I was dating this girl who I recently found out that the reason why she broke up with me was because she was talking to this other guy over the internet that she really liked. She was doing this while we were dating, of course, without my knowledge of it. Do you consider this a moment in which she was cheating on me?

Definitely no doubt, because she was emotionally-involved with someone already. You don't have to be physically-involved to cheat.

If you are just chatting to friends no its not cheating, but when you are deliberately looking for another man yes, it is cheating. Then again some people may disagree, but to me this is cheating. Why would it be different if she was calling the guy on the phone? Would you consider that cheating? even if you are not a jealous person which I am not, deliberately leading someone on, weather its on the phone or internet, is cheating. It all depends on where you draw the line. To me this is cheating. Take care Heather

As Dr. Phil says...lol...If you can't do something in front of the other person then you are cheating. There is also a bible verse stating that even looking at a person in a lustful way is adultery. I think i would ask myself if I was doing it would I feel like I was cheating? She may have been chatting with no intetion of a connection and it just happened. I wouldn't hold it against her but I wouldn't take her back either. Don't stand for being second best!!! Good luck!

I think that it is fine to talk to anyone we choose, whether in a relationship or not! I talk to many men, and I am in a committed relationship! My boyfriend doesn't mind. It's not cheating to have friends. If she dated him while she was with you, that would be cheating. Even flirting is alright...like on the job, or away from your significant other! I know you probably don't agree with that, but....we have a nature to flirt, and it really doesn't mean anything! Men and women are attracted to eachother...that's how it is. I would never cheat on my sweet boyfriend. It's just clean fun, and if it were to go anywhere else I would stop it immediately. I may sound like I am alittle crazy, but to be truthful I like men, men like me, but I have found my prince and would never let anything get in the way of US. Men always look at women...even when we are together! It really means nothing.

Well you have broken up, so she probably was more interested in the other guy.. I wouldn't exactly say she was cheating at the time, but she had intentions to move on...
If my boyfriend was chatting up another girl on the internet, I would not be happy...

Depends on if by dating you mean you had had some agreement of exclusivity... that it was something you had discussed.
I have dated more than one person at a time... but once I am "seeing" someone its normally because I have talked with them and there is a mutual agreement of exclusively.
If you did... Yes, she was cheating.

Yes and No, i mean she met this person while you were dating sure, but she did not date them while you were dating. She broke up with you because she knew that she was starting to fall for this other guy. I wouldnt call it cheating but id still be pissed. haha

I believe she knew that she was in a situation that involved emotional infidelity becaise she felt the need to break up with you. So, yes, I believe it was a moment she was cheating on you. I do think it is possible to chat without that emotional cheating on her partner.

I don't consider that cheating she was just talking to him. And when she felt like it could become more serious with the "internet guy" she broke things off with you.

Cheating does not always have to be physical - sometimes the intent to begin to talk to someone over long periods of time constitues cheating.
