If the archeological evidence were forthcoming, I'd take a second look at Mormonism. But it hasn't.
As far as I'm concerned, I've got to go with that which is supported by the facts in evidence.
I don't "bash" Mormons. As a matter of fact, I've discussed scripture with them hours on end. Unlike Jehovah's Nitwits, many Mormons are sincere. They're just sincerely wrong. UInfortunately, what it always comes down to is that they accept the "Book of Mormon" as equally authoritive as the Bible. So nothing can ever be resolved until they see it for the scam it is.
Anyone who suspends their intellect in favor of things like wearing special underwear to gain favour with God just doesn't have a good bead on things.

I did read the Book of Mormon, three times, the Pearl of Great Price and the other one (i forget now). I prayed, I went to church, I went to "singles family home evenings", did everything right according to the church doctrine, I was temple bound. Even married a "Jack Mormon".But you know what, my whole life I was raised in religion, but I never felt Unworthy and Shamed until I became a Mormon.
Don't get me wrong-I love the family values Mormons have. I love the gatherings that always happen. I love their sense of humor (Napoleon Dynamite would be a fantastic example). But the religion just was not for me. And as I got more into it, I researched the validity of the Church and the symbols of the temple and I just realized it wasn't for me.
I respect the church, but I don't have to agree that they are the only ones that have it right. No one can say one thing is right for ALL people.
Look, whatever you are, fat/skinny, thiscolor/thatcolor, rich/poor, we all get "bashed" in life. Just be who you are and make no excuses to anyone but yourself.
Best of luck to you.

What you believe is yours. And if that belief doesn't match another, there is conflict. The conflict is carried to the door steps across the nation.
If you look back to Joseph Smith, you will see conflict. Conflict enough to murder Joseph Smith, burn down his community, and expel his people to head West. There is nothing new about conflict when your belief does not match another.
The Mormon send their young to mission to convert. These young people will present the "gospel" (Good News) to those who would listen, and more important, believe. But what about non belief? It is ignored and the next mission is taken, but it is still there.
Why do people bash people with different beliefs? You will see it in history as you do in current places like Iraq. Bashing is one way not to listen, not to belief. It can lead the murder and death.
Answer: It is not about a life style, it is about compatibility. Bashing is only one form of incompatibility, and it is probably one too many.

I personally don't attack Mormons. It's their religion and their business. But I had some bad experiences with Mormons who have said some pretty nasty things about me for being Wiccan. One lady said she didnt want to get near me or I might infect her with evil.
I think that whatever you believe should be your choice and your decision. As long as we don't judge the lives of others. Its all good.

I don't bash anyone, but I do believe that they are believing in false doctrines and history if they follow anything other than the Bible for truth (which they do). The extrabiblical books that the Mormons believe in are not inspired by the Holy Spirit, and neither is the Qur'an. And yes, I have looked at both; it is evident, by the guiding of the Spirit, that they are penned by human authors alone, and thus are deceptive fiction. I read them with minimal bias, and have come to that conclusion solely on what the Spirit has lead me to.

May I be honest with you? I have never met nicer people in my life than anyone who is a Mormon. I mean that. It is the Mormon doctrine that I abhor, because it is false and it is deceiving people, leading them away from the biblical Jesus and having them follow a false prophet and a false gospel.
Mormons as people are wonderful. Mormon doctrine is leading millions of wonderful people on a false path.

Every religion, ethnicity, gender, country, school, polical affilation , etc has been bashed by mankind for centuries. It's human nature for those to bad-mouth what they are afraid of, don't understand, dislike, etc instead of using civility and education.
