Atheists do not believe in heaven or hell, no God, no Devil (other than fellow men), no angels, no minions, no nothing.

Some Atheists have pentagrams and 666 and such in their profiles to piss Christians off, since Christians really seem to care about them. To an Atheist it's no different than having a square and an area code.

(Not to be confused with a Devil Worshiper, which is the occult/made-up-myth by another name).

probably While I can't answer for all atheists, let alone the pics and/or comments, I can say that atheism is simply the lack of belief in the supernatural....god, Satan, ghosts, pink unicorns, etc. As for what an atheist believes in, that needs to be worded differently or separated from the other form. A belief in the supernatural, gods, and such is not the same as, for example, believing that the sun will shine tomorrow or believing that a friend will be there and support you. This is more like reasonable expectations based on the consistency of past events.

Atheism = no god AND no satan (devil, whatever.) The atheists with the nasty avatars are just trying to annoy you.

All the things you mention are faith-based beliefs. In general, atheists do not subscribe to faith based thinking. Most (but not all) atheists only believe in what can be proven with empirical evidence. In fact, to an atheist, the non-belief in god is not a "belief" at all, but a fact.

When it comes to unproven claims, the burden of proof is on the person making the claim, not the person who the claim is being made to. The more outrageous the claim, the greater the proof which is needed.

As an atheist, I cannot say for certain there is no god, but nor can I say for certain there are no giant golden statues of Jane Fonda. What I can (and do) say is that unless you can show me the EVIDENCE for god, then your claim is no more plausible than a giant golden Jane Fonda statue coming to life and taking a crap on the white house lawn.

Hope this helps.

We are not afraid of christian fear tactics. So many will proudly display that by using such symbolism. I dont think alot of atheist actually do this, but no doubt there are some, I guess if you say you say atheist with such things then I assume you did.
Its no big deal look --->> I love Satan, 666 praise Lucifer. I want to go to hell.
I just say that to patronize and annoy many Christians. And no I dont mind doing such a thing. And I hardly ever do such a thing anyway
Actually, its christians that glorify such things the most. They use the symbols more than any one on the face of the earth. I learnt so much about Witchcraft, black magic, satan, human sacrifice, blood atonement, the occult when I was a christian. I had never heard of such EVIl on earth outside of a christian setting.

well, you first have to get the answer of why
the number 666, pentagrams, etc. are accociated with the devil.

and.

like im willing to bet that some of the people with 666, pentagrams, are actually satanists?

edit":
and, we do not believe in heaven or hell, but we CAN be familiar with the story behind them, cant we?

An atheist is one who has no beliefs in any god(s). That is the only thing one needs to do to be called an atheist. They may wear different fashions, shoes, have different taste in music from other atheists. They usually are independent and the only thing in common is their lack of belief in god(s).

Some atheists are assholes who like to yank your chain. I personally think it is tacky to use any overtly theistic symbols.

The devil is every bit as mythical as god, heaven & hell.

Atheist don't believe in satan either. Anybody on here who actually believes in satan, but calls themselves an atheist doesn't understand the word.

Some people use "satanic" symbols more for their anti-religious conotation., or shock value.

Anybody who really believes in satan, also will believe in god.
