I'm 22 and been having alot of problems since I was 15, but they appear to be getting uncontrollable now.
I hear voices talking to me, some of which tell me what to do.
My memories seem to be disappearing as time goes by, and anything I do remember from my childhood is traumatic to me, or just plain miserable.
I can't sleep at night- I have to wait for daybreak or some sort of light.
I'm incredibly paranoid, am persuaded people are talking about me, looking at me, or following me. Even when I know I'm completely alone, I feel watched.
My mood swings from being neutral, to being suicidally depressed, then to being angry to the point of wanting to hurt people and destroy things. During my neutral moments, I tend to blank out very frequently, and then wonder where the time went to.
Over the past few months I've been on the verge of tears at least 10 times per day, sometimes more.
Can anyone help me work out what's going on here? I would be ever so grateful.

There has got to be a free clinic or something that can help you sound as though you might have post tramatic stress disorder but I can't tell for sure some of the things fit in the category but others don't for example these people block things that are tramatic to them and it takes much counciling to recall them. the voices are a very bad sign. You may truely want to consider going to the hospital immediately .. if they put you in a program , some are government ran and others have a low payment plan. I really think after the range of moods and not controlable voices and violent thoughts and black out that you should go to the hospital. god bless and good luck

1. get to the root of what is troubling you.Go to a free clinic that can help you get counciling.
2. maybe the voices are coming from you trying to figure out what to do.We all talk to ourselves to a point to try & take the right root in life for different situations.Just always try to do the right thing.
3.Whatever happened in your childhood is probably what is the cause of your troubled mind today.Resolve these issues.Put them in the right perspective knowing that you did the best you can & knowing that things happened beyond your control & then move on.
4.What scares you at night? Is it because you are alone? Are you reading ghost stories before bed? Try to get a roommate.Try to change your hours by getting up earlier &to bed earlier.Sometimes feeling like chit comes from not getting enough rest & not getting rest also causes anxiety.
5.Could be that your guardian angel is watching over you.Maybe people are looking or talking about you because maybe they would like to get to know you or like you.Believe in yourself.
6.You may have a chemical imbalance that meds can straighten out.See a doctor.He/she & a councilor can help bring peace to you quicker than you may realize. The first step is making an appointment,,then things can be on there way to getting better for you.You should be happy & enjoying your life.I wish you the very best. You should have a gyn doctor also as every woman should. You may have a hormonal imbalance that causes these mood swings. You sound like you have alot of anger in you that needs to be resolved. And you deserve to have them resolved.
7.You sound very sweet.I care.

Bad memory, voices, sleepless nights and extreme paranoia along with random mood swings (this is a key point, are your moods random or periodic? periodic shows a bipolar disorder or some form not necessarily bipolar it's self, random shows schizophrenia or other forms of psychosis) all sound like they're swaying closely to the schizophrenia line.
Go see a church they can help you with counseling or possibly help you find a free clinic, a lot of doctors are willing to give free samples of medication for those who cannot afford it and work on a sliding scale.
See someone for help there are free services out there and you need to be properly diagnosed by a profession so you can get help straight away.

This sounds like there was probably some traumatic events that happened in your childhood that are affecting you as an adult. You can find free counseling and help. This sounds like post traumatic stress disorder that is moderate and sounds like it is progressing into the schitzotypal area with the voices. Not unusual for a victim of childhood sexual abuse. You need to call your local rape crisis center in your phone book and ask where you can find help letting them know you have no money but think you may be the victim of childhood sexual abuse and need counseling. Many good Catholic charities offer this kind of help. You don't need to live this way and healing is possible. Much of my early adult life was spent feeling similiarly and things are great in comparision now and I have no symptoms like these anymore. You can get medication to help and along with counseling will really help you.

have you tried taking an supplements such as B vitamins? They keep the nervous system healthy. A deficiency in these can cause mental problems
heart palpitations
heart arrythmias
fibrillation
indigestion
chronic fatigue
chronic exhaustion
paranoia, vague fears, fear that something dreadful is about to happen
nervousness
ADD (attention deficiency), inability to concentrate, irritability
feeling of uneasiness
thoughts of dying
easy agitation, frustration
inability to sleep (insomnia)
restlessness
tingling in hands
tingling fingers and toes
rashes
crying spells, inability to cope
soreness all over
and so much more
They make a multi b vitamin that you can buy at the drug store. I hope this helps. Ive had more than one of these symptoms and I started taking the b vitamins and they disapeared

Getting "help" this way won't be an effective form of treatment. What you have going on can't really be analyzed in a few paragraphs off the Internet. You'll definitely need an evaluation where your condition can be categorized and analyzed. From there, I would recommend getting treatment, from group counseling and seeking out groups that deal with issues.
Paranoia, Bi-Polar condition, repressive past. People will throw terms and terminology at you, and until you get a professional analysis you won't really know what's going on.

My mom is a psychologist, she specializes in mental disorders and whatnot. From what I hear (you talking about voices talking to you, and mood swings), one could determine that you are developing a yes, mental disorder such as schizophrenia or bi-polar disease, if I were you I would contact a family member and see if they could help you afford the cost of visiting a doctor, because to me it seems like your only option. Sorry I could not be more helpful, but it is the place of a doctor to be answering questions like this one on one with you. Best of luck!
Also, if you are in a financial jam, the hospitals understand and if I am correct you can apply for a type of financial aid, I mean it is not like they can deny you service just because you lack the money.

I am a Counselor..and what you are experiencing sound like it is serious. I would recommend seeing a Psychiatrist immediately for an evaluation. You can call the public health department in your area for a referral, or contact social service agencies in your area. Many of those agencies have a Psychiatrist on staff..and that Doctor can treat you for a nominal cost, or for free. Take care.
Also, it doesn't sound like Bi-Polar..and Group Counseling may help down the road..but it's not what you need right now. (I'm responding to the other answers to this question.)

It is a tormenting spirit, paranoia is miserable. My Husband had it.
Do the the things you are afraid of, people are not talking about you.
the devil or evil spirit tells you that, he can say anything he wants and make you believe it, just remember it is only a lie to destroy you.
God get Prayer from a man of faith and value, also filled with the spirit of God say Bible verses back to him.
Like Get behind me Satan
you are a liar and was so from the beginning, and the father of all lie. Every thing he says is a lie!!!!
no weapon formed against me will prosper and every tongue that rises against me will prosper
I bind you in Jesus name and by the blood of the Lamb
Speak the word of God against him and he will have to go
That the only help I can give you, and read the Bible every day all the time and pray.
Many churches have counselors, make sure you go to the right source.
Love and Prayers..................

Try and see if you can get into group counseling. . .That will benefit you the most. Try to figure out whose voices they are and determine why they are telling you what they do. Why do you cry so often and what is so traumatic? Suicide is bad. . .obviously don't commit it. Keep a diary or two and put your greatest fears in one and your achievements and things you like in the other. Read your achievements and things you like whenever you feel depressed. See if that helps you, otherwise, revert to my first idea. . .the counseling. (And i don't mean like a pro group. Just get some of ur friends and talk it over. it works really well and it's inexpensive).
