I have been suffering from migraines on average 2-3 times a week for the past two years (sometime much higher frequency) and wake every morning with at least a dull headache and a tense jaw. I've tried the doctor, the naturopath, the chiropractor and the dentist (I've recently been fitted with a night guard to stop possible jaw clenching at night) but nothing seems to have helped a great deal.
I'd love to hear from other migraine sufferers to find out how you have cured yourself from migraines, reduced their frequency or found some kind of relief.

When I was diagnosed years ago my neurologist had me keep a journal of when they occurred to see if there was some trigger that caused them....food, air travel, time of day and such. I didn't have any particular trigger...but many people do.

I tried all the standard meds...Midrin,Matrix, the ergotamines, Maxsalt, etc. Finally I found relief with Fiornial with codeine. But to help reduce the frequency and the intensity he put me on Elivil and Inderal...a beta blocker used for hypertension. It has help with managing my migraines.

Good luck...2-3 per week has to be devastating.

You need to see a neurologist and get on some preventative medication to help prevent the number of migraines you get as well as the severity of them. A neurologist is the doc you need to see. Also if you drink diet soda stay away from the ones that contain aspartame as this can aggrivate them. Also consider getting rid of your toxic cleaners and laundry products as many are registered pesticides. Switch to something all natural.

You probably know this, but certain foods make migraines worse. It might be wise, if you aren't doing so already, to ditch them. They are: Chocolate, red wine, and cheese. I hope that can help you a bit.
