Let's just say, hypothetically, what should someone do if they get hit by a car (not including contacting police, getting numbers...) like should you let them lay there and what till the ambulance comes???

You should move them as little as possible because of the possibility of doing damage to the spinal cord, which could be damaged enough to sever a nerve (resulting in paralysis). Cover the person. If in the path of oncoming traffic, possibly another car could block the path - maybe wave off traffic if possible. Try to keep them warm, apply pressure to slow any bleeding, and reassure the person. Don't raise the head, as you want the blood to reach the brain to avoid shock.

Take a first aid class to learn how to address some of the things you could encounter. Don't move them unless it's necessary, like in the case of a car fire. Moving the victim could cause further back or neck injury. Stop any fatal bleeding by applying direct pressure, if you can. Otherwise, try to keep them calm. If you see signs of shock, elevate the feet and cover them with a blanket, or anything you can find. This is a great question. Good for you for being concerned enough to ask it! A Red Cross first aid course would be good for you.

stop drop and roll...

what should you do if you were hit by a car? well it depends. if your hurt lay there. if your not hurt get up. you should ask what someone should do if either they hit someone with a car or you come across someone else that was hit by a car. if you are hit by a car you can do what ever you feel like doing after being hit by a car.

it all depends on how badly the person is hurt. If there's hardly a scratch on them, then you probably don't need to wait LOL if not, the 911 operator can guide you through what to do, if anything.

you should not move them because of further injuring the neck or spinal. the only time that you should move someone is if their life is in immediate danger.
