Of course there are absolutes in the universe. The sad reality is that modern relativism has made this question relevant. Everything that is an unchanging truth is absolute, be it mathematical, scientific, moral, theological, etc. Otherwise, how could you ever really know anything? If everything was subject to change, you could not.
Examples:
Mathematical: 1+1=2
Scientific: the speed of light in a vacuum (about 186,000 mps)
Moral: abortion is wrong
Theological: God does exits
If some, or many, deny an absolute truth, it has no effect on the absolute truthfulness of the fact. In today's society, that's what makes searching for the truth so difficult - and fun and interesting - if you really want to know the truth.

For the time being we use the term "absolute zero"
Absolute zero is the lowest possible temperature where nothing could be colder and no heat energy (or kinetic energy) remains in a substance. Absolute zero is the point at which molecules stop and they have no movement, retaining only quantum mechanical, zero-point energy-induced particle motion.
By international agreement, absolute zero is defined as precisely…
* 0 K on the Kelvin scale, which is a thermodynamic (absolute) temperature scale, and
* –273.15 °C on the Celsius scale.
This is, of course, subject to change as science advances.

* f course there are absolutes, but there is no absolute truth. There is a difference. 3 plus 3 is always 6 which is an absolute. However Jehovah is God is not an absolute truth because it can not be proven. an absolute can be proven. 3 plus 3 can be proved to be true always. Absolutes can be proved, but absolute truth cannot be proved because religion cannot be proved and only in religion do people think there is absolute truth. There is only personal truth.*

Not absolutes, but polarities. Absolute is a perception. Polarities are those things that are opposite. Day/NIght, Male/Female etc. Or at least that's what the Wiccans think.

Of course. To say truth is relevant is self contradictary.
If truth is relevant then the truth that truth is relevant is relevant. Which would mean that there is truth.
To make it a little easier:
"There are no absolutes!"
"Are you absolutley certain?"
To say that there are no absolutes is to make an absolute statement. Which proves there are absolutes. So if this simple fact of grammer is true then yes other things are most definately absolute as well.
Woot!

The answer is 42. Actually though one meaning of absolute is freed from imperfection. The Creator is absolutely perfect but isn't a part of the universe. Though the Creator be omnipresent He is still not of the creation but is One and of Himself alone.

It's seems impossible to stop gravity, time or exceed the speed of light, so there appear to be at least a few absolutes.
