its not bad, anything youve heard was probably exaggerated. ive had every orthodontic device, procedure, appliance known to man, so you can trust me. the only time it hurts is when you try to eat. otherwise it doesnt hurt, its just uncomfortable and irritating for 4 days max. after adjustments maybe 1 or 2 days max. dont worry youll be fine.

Spacers make your teeth very sore. I can't describe the feeling, but I don't remember it being completely unbearable. And in a few days, it feels like you don't even have them in. Mine did pop out a lot though. That was obnoxious.

My braces actually weren't too bad. It all depends on how tough your mouth is. I had gotten a ton of stuff done before I got the actual braces on, so I could handle it. Just make sure to take a couple Tylenol or something before you get everything done. It'll help.

Spacers are uncomfortable. It feels like a piece of meat stuck between every tooth. But it's only for a few days. It doesn't compare to the pain of an injury. Not that acute. But it's more like a tenderness for a few days.

hii ive had braces for about a year now. i only have to have them on for 7 more months :] but anyways what they do is first.. they will explain it to you.. or they should. and first they will put this like thing in your mouth to open your mouth so you wont have to get tired or whatever and that doesnt hurt at all. its really easy. and then theyll fit you to the back band size.. what it is is they put these metal ring looking things around your back molars. its alot of jerking and taking in and taking out and tight stuff. then what theyll do is theyll glue those onto your teeth.. and that doesnt really hurt just the jamming it up in ur gums kinda hurts.. then what they do is they will start putting on your brackets.. which are the main part of the braces that the wire hooks up to.. all they do is super glue that to your teeth.. (it doesnt hurt at all.) theyll do it to all your teeth until their done. and then theyll get a wire thing.. and they slide it into the brackets.. and it feels kinda awkward and weird in your mouth and then they clip the brackets down and that doesnt really hurt either it just feels weird (theyll do these 2 steps at every appointment to tighten your braces) then when your done with that they will clip the wire is that are in the back so you dont get any poking. theyll give you wax for your mouth just incase you feel a little uncomfertable. take about 2 advil or ib profin right after words it willlllll hurt very vey very bad and youll have to eat soft foods. the 2nd day hurts the worst- i couldnt eat even soft foods. but in the end braces are a pain in the butt but you get used to them. hope this helped!!

It's not really that bad, I guess... something like a bad bruise. Your teeth will be achy for a day or two every time you get an adjustment, but some ibuprofen or something seems to work really well. You adjust pretty fast, though for me the most annoying part was that at first my tongue would not leave the brackets alone. XD
Then, at first you might get some little raw spots inside your cheeks where the brackets will rub. Something like cold sores. They heal up fast.

I've had braces, It's not as bad as you might think. Take some tylenol or something similar. Might want to eat something kind os soft for a day or so. Braces are worth every pain & penny spent.

It hurts so bad you cannot chew anything, Eat your favorite stuff before you get this done because you will only be able to drink. It feels like a toothache and headache combined.
Eat caramel and stuff that is forbidden while you can. Braces are not as painful. Only when you get a cut from them inside your mouth. Retainers are not painful at all.

Braces and spaces are sometimes uncomfortable. When I had them when I was teenager it never interfered with my daily routine. If they get really bother sum just take a pain killer.
