Well i was doing my English quote analysis and am not too sure what this quote means. "To no man does the earth mean so much as to the soldier". So far the most that i got out of this is the earth is like this protective force like a baby in a womb. Saves a soldier from Bullets and such. Anyone have any ideas?

The soldier is the person who spills his own blood, takes his last breath, and dies on the battle field called Earth. While on the battle field only Earth can protect and save him from life or death- Earth determines in a sense whether he lives or dies. Thus, to no man does the earth mean so much to than a soldier.

That earth is likely bought with too dear a price if one is a soldier. The price is blood. He who bleeds with me this day shall be my brother. We warriors are a band of brothers. For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know. My dearest wish, after seeing humankind forswear all future wars, is to be buried with my fellow veterans.
