If you are God, and you know everything and you last forever, and if you have all the power in the universe, it is easy to be good. It is even easy to suffer and to die a terrible death, the blink of an eye in an eternal lifespan. It is if you are a human that it is difficult, with all the pains and pressures of life, always to put love and forgiveness and other people and God first; never to surrender to prejudice and aggression and materialism and selfish desires. When you have no power, no status, no material goods, that is when it is most difficult to be supremely good. Jesus was great because he was only human. Don't you agree?

I must accept that Jesus existed, & yes he was a man. & many great human men have (& still exist). As well as, one can be "good" without the deprivations you mention. A condition of being "good" has little to do with power, status or materal goods. I do not agree with you.

Edit: It would be "interesting" if anyone, ever, could explain how the crucifixion of Jesus "saved" us. Just a simple statement. & if so, from what? From the mean spirited, sadistic rules assumed to be god's? God who created such monsterous sinners? & thank you very much, but the Satan & God conflict is like a fantasy movie. If god were truly so loving & powerful, (as is so often said), why didn't he kick Satan's a--- out a long time ago instead of scaring the pants off Christians who live to avoid Satan's EVIL so they won't burn in hell? The answer my friend is blowing in the wind--the answer is blowing in the wind....

In part yes but what is proven about him is debatable and if he thought he was saving the world for god then he was subject to delusions of grandeur as well just many great men have also been troubled with mental problems at one point in their lives . With all do respect for both the legend and what ever jesus actually was aside from a man, religion is still incredulous .

If Jesus was only a man, He was a liar, and while many liars have been "great", none have ever been "good". Jesus said He is God, which is absolute truth which is the greatest truth about any man who has ever lived. That God would lower Himself to die for us is beyond amazing.

ROFL.
You are an eternal being. Shall we set up a similar experience for you, to include the floggings, beatings, spit, crucifixion endless latter years of harassment and rude disrespectful arrogant comments made on computers and peoples hearts about you? And you didn't do a single thing to deserve any of it. Or shall we just settle for you standing before GOD without the covering of Jesus finished work on the cross.? Yes brother. Jesus is most certainly GOD. No one else could of done that for you and I.
May the Lord richly bless you anyway.

Not only was He human but He was also a Messenger of God and by virtue of that was like unto a pure polished mirror for the perfect reflection of the Divine attributes.
He was above us who do not share that distinction, yet He was not God.
