"[5:116] And when Allah will say: O Isa son of Marium! did you say to men, Take me and my mother for two gods besides Allah he will say: Glory be to Thee, it did not befit me that I should say what I had no right to (say); if I had said it, Thou wouldst indeed have known it; Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I do not know what is in Thy mind, surely Thou art the great Knower of the unseen things."

Allah had no right to say it? Who is in charge of your god?

It is NOT limited Authority dude, its freewill that GOD has given to us all.

Take this example, in an examination, even if a student writes a WRONG answer, NO one will stop him from doing so. Even if the concerned teacher is present, he/she will NOT object to the answer, because during the examination it is a TEST. Its the Time for ACTION.

Now when the answer sheet is taken from the student, NOW comes the time for the REWARD/PUNISHMENT. Now the Teacher will NOT give any marks for the WRONG answer.

Similarly, this life is a TEST by Almighty GOD. He sent messengers like Abraham, Moses, Jesus Christ & Finally Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Them All) to guide mankind to worship GOD alone. All messengers called mankind to submit their self to GOD.

But if the people choose otherwise, Almighty GOD will NOT call them to ACCOUNT. But when they DIE, and their Soul is now at ALLAH's disposal, they will be accounted for their deeds.

Peace Be With You,

Firstly, I have read this Marmaduke Pickthall Translation in its entirety, it isn't the best or most accurate. I recommend the M Khan Translation myself.

Let's examine this verse

[005:116] And (remember) when Allâh will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Îsâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say to men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allâh?' " He will say: "Glorified are You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner self though I do not know what is in Yours; truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen).

You seem to mistaken as what is being said, it says when God will ask Jesus Son of Mary, if he told people to worship him and his mother Mary along with God (like the Catholics) and Jesus Son of Mary (Peace Be Upon Him) will reply "Glorified are you are you! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say)".

So what it is saying is that God will ask Jesus Son of Mary if he said this, and he will say No. Jesus never told people to worship him or his mother, and if he said such a thing God would have known that he has said it.

I think the questions you are asking (I am assuming you are Christian forgive me if you are not) is who is in charge of whom you take as a god.

And the Answer is that God alone is in charge of the Universe, and that Jesus Son Of Mary (peace be upon him) was his messenger.

[005:072] Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "God is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary." But the Messiah Jesus said: "O Children of Israel! Worship God, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with God, then God has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) there are no helpers.

[005:073] Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "God is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no god (none who has the right to be worshipped) but God alone). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them.

[005:074] Will they not turn with repentance to God and ask His forgiveness? For God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[005:075] The Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Mary] was a Siddîqah [i.e. she believed in the Words of God and His Books (see Verse 66:12)]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while God does not eat). Look how We make the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them; yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).

May God guide you to the straight path

Peace Be With You

Hi
I'm Muslin too, but I'm not so great at English. If you put a simple translation of that, I can answer you, but there is nothing that controls God, that can mean that God shouldn't say it to him.

No. Read it again. Jesus says he has no right to call himself a god.

Not my god ! Religion is an illusion and it derives its strength from the fact that it falls in with our instinctual desires.

You are not reading the verse properly. Allah is not saying 'I had no right to say', it is Isa (Jesus) who is saying that. Please read carefully!
