It's much harder to just stop doing an undesirable behavior than it is to replace it with a better behavior. Maybe you could make a schedule for yourself. If you don't sleep well the first night or two, hang in there and eventually your body will adjust to the new routine. Plan a reward for yourself, and only give it to yourself if you achieve your goals. This is all part of being an adult-- no one makes us get up and go to work in the morning, but we get fired if we don't. No one makes us go to bed at 10, but it gets harder to get up in the morning if we don't. No one makes us eat well, but we get fat and sick if we don't. Since most of us enjoy being paid and being healthy, we set up a routine and discipline ourselves to keep it. Then we get good paychecks, vacations in the Bahamas, etc. You CAN do this. Good Luck!!

I am with you. . .I need to stop staying up so late! I need to stop spending so much free time on the pc.
I read Dr. Phil say that you have to drive out one habit with another, like driving a nail out of wood with another nail. So replace the habit with something else. It takes time, that is for sure. And I'm with you on the reading thing, I can't do it. My mind wanders . .. "Did so and so email me back? I'd better go check" LOL!

change the times you do things - get up at 3:30 AM to watch TV and study is one example. Eat less sweats and switch to cantaloupe or honeydew melon, perhaps carrots or bananas - fast sugars like cake and candy keep you hyper - fruits fill the craving without the hyperness. Take up jogging - body building ( for either sex it works) use your energy to force yourself into good habits. Perhaps drag a good friend into this -

properly it relies upon on what variety of habit. as an occasion to offer up smoking I used to placed on sweaters even in the summertime, as i don't smoke while i've got faith warm. My prevalent advice is to maintain your self occupated. That way you in basic terms concentration at that element. For eample: if somebody has the habit of biting his/her nails, they make it easier to be conscious of that they never chew them while working not undemanding on something. working not undemanding is probably not artwork itself, it incredibly is a game or something which takes maximum of your concentration. in case you do not do the element for some time (month - 3 months), you will in all threat not do it back, in case you fairly do not decide to do it.

Get up an hour earlier for one week, the second week two hours earlier, and so on until your at the time you want to get up. Also go to bed ealier. Do your home work one hour before supper, and then one hour after supper. Make schedule and don't let anything or anybody interrupt you.

you get into these habits by doing them consistently. The only way to break it would be to keep not doing them.
