I have a beautiful 3 months old shih tzu and he is healthy and gets check up regularly by the vet. My roomate's puppy is about the same age and she's never been to a vet and she has a very bad flea problem. She doesn't know how to walk because my roomate never try to walk her and she never got any potty train so she goes potty inside the house. I don't let them play together because my puppy is still in a process of getting rounds of vaccination (the 3rd set) and I don't want him to get flea problems (he is being treated with frontline). My vet also told me that it's best if I keep him away from the other puppy. The day I brought my puppy home, my roommate told me as a joke that she's gonna make them (her puppy and my puppy) mate so she can get offsprings. She told me this when she found out how much I paid to get my puppy. Her puppy is a daughter of a street dog and she doesn't know what her pup is mixed with.

because I go to college I'm gone during the day and I'm afraid that my roomate might try to force my puppy to have sex with her puppy. i know they are still young to do that but I'm afriad that she's gonna do that in the future. my puppy is getting neutered next month but I don't wanna risk it. i usually keep my puppy in his crate when I'm not home but my roomate can open it if she wanted to. If she ever try to mate my puppy with hers can I report her to animal control or something? She is not a nice person and she dislike me because I told her that she has to take better care of her puppy.

she would do anything for money...that's what afraid of..that she's gonna sell my puppy's offsprings for money without my permission and I do not want any offsprings! Her puppy is very stressed and nervous and mentally ill puppy cause she never gets exercise. If they have offsprings I know they will come out messed up and I do not want that to happen.

it seems like people are not reading my question right. I know what's the best thing to do. Obviously it's me moving or make my roommate move but I do not have that choice yet. The lease isn't up til july. So I need to find the next best thing. The question is...am I able report her to the animal control. That's the only question that I'm asking. By the way, I didn't know my roomate was gonna neglect her puppy. I got my puppy around the time that she got hers. She seems so compassionate about animals and babies so I thought she would take care of her puppy. But she said "I don't believe in training puppies. I want them to run around freely and poop and pee anywhere it wants to"

If yours is only 3 months and you are having him fixed next month (when he is 4 months old). You are fine. He won't be able to produce babies even if she tries. He is too young. And if she tries later, it won't matter because he won't be able to make babies anyway. You sound like you are doing a great job with your puppy. Keep it up. When you are able to leave this apartment, you will be blest with a well behaved little dog and she'll be left with a monster. Just make sure you remember it's her fault for not training the dog, not the dog's fault. Maybe you could sneak in a little training so the dog respects you and your stuff.

Obviously, your roommate does not know **** about caring for puppies. Ask her if she wants help caring for her puppy. Since the lease isn't up for several months, it would make a bad room-mate situation worse if you called animal police while you still have to live there. If she accepts your help, you will feel better about the puppy not being neglected while you are there. You could even offer to walk the dog for her.
Maybe she WAS joking but if so that joke was not funny at all. Be comforted that it would be near impossible to force dogs to mate unless one of them is in heat. So as long as your puppy does not go into heat or go near the other puppy if it goes into heat, they will not mate. Once your puppy is neutered, they may still do the wild thing if the other one goes into heat, but at least there will not be an outcome of more puppies.

You should point out to this evil roomate of yours that if the dogs did mate, the offspring would be an even more muddled up, diluted mix of breeds than her dog, since they would be whatever mix her dog is, plus shi-tzu on top of that. Just cause your dog was expensive, that won't make its mongrel puppies worth any money. Maybe if she knows that having puppies will COST her money in vet bills, etc. & won't be offset by money from selling the puppies, seeing as they would be mutts, then she will knock it off. But wow, do you need to kick her sick, freaky ***. Then move. Or at least lock your bedroom. Really well, with more than one lock. Good luck.

Dont have to wait for the lease to be up evict her . go to the courthouse and get the papers and evict her because she obviously does not care about your wishes or concerns and that is not a person you want to be around . Get your male neutered as soon as possible cause I would not put it past her to do this . I mean it evict her and find yourself another roommate . She will have 30 days to get out and as soon as she is gone change the locks and let your neighbors know that she has been evicted and does not live there anymore and if they see her come round report her to the police . The sooner the better . good luck .

check out doggy Daycares.. You can report your roomate if you feel the puppy is in danger.. and if shee has never taken her pup to a vet there is a small chance parvo can be transmitted.. But dont fear talk to your vet.. since you are takeing all procations it is a good thing.. I have seen to many ppl do what your roomate has done and theor pups dont last to see yr one. If possible move out.. try to get anopther place.. I know how ruff collage can be . I wish you the best of luck.. but you are doing the right thing by going to your vet and asking questions..

Have your dog spayed and do look for another apartment. I dont think animal control can do anything unless there is some sort of abuse or neglect. Letting her puppy pee all over the place won't be considered neglect though.

If your puppy is only 3 months old and he will be neutered next month, there should be no problem with her trying to mate them. I don't know how long you have left on your lease, or if you are on a month to month basis, but if I was you I would try to find another apartment.

My advice is this.... Call your landlord. Let them know that your room mate is letting her dog spoil all over and its infested with flees. Im sure he will want to know.
You can be held for all the damage done if you dont let him know. Report her to the ASPCA.
Your puppy is too young to breed. Her puppy is too young to come in..... Your fine there if your getting yours fixed.
Sadly there are alot of pets that never see a vet or get shots which is really sad. Some get all these pets and cant afford to feed it right. Alot of people on welfare own pets and dont have money for their bills let alone a dog that they get. SAD SAD SAD
Its nice to know your doing the right thing for your child( your pet)
It depends on you to make the right choices for it and you seem to be doing that nicley..... Hats off to you.

I would have to look for another roommate. I don't believe I would have gotten a puppy if I knew it would have to be around one that wasn't taken care of properly. If your roommates puppy has fleas, then your will have them soon, even if you keep them separated. The fleas will jump and soon be on your puppy. Good Luck!

two things one try to get rid of the roommate. and see if you can find some body to watch your puppy will you are at class or out of room for any lenght of time.. because if the other puppy has fleas they will be in the house like in the carpet. i am glad that you are getting the puppy neutered. please be careful that the other puppy does not get near you puppy.
