Well, the cook and gardener were doing what they were supposed to be doing, the wife could have been sleeping, but why was the butler cleaning and why in the hell would the maid get the mail on a day when mail isn't even delivered?

It could be between the Maid and the Wife; although the Maid has more possibilities. Because there is no mail service on any sundays. However, how do the wife know her husband is dead immediately (which is the part that kind of confuse me)....
