i cut my hair last summer and didnt care for the short look, so i have been putting in extensions that have damaged my hair beyond repair. i got my hair done today at a salon and the guy told me he couldnt style it because there was nothing he could do to it. i rip out my tracks, and dont grease my scalp, and i never knew how bad i was damaging my hair. well now i want to repair it and nurse it back to health. any suggestions on what steps i should take? also i have course, extremely thin, weak and slow pace growing hair.

You may need to just give it a break, meaning go ahead and cut it really short, and keep it oiled, and let it grow, It should grow back in no time if you take better care of it. Did your stylist say if there were any treatments he could give you??

You go get some raw apple cider vinegar, take Cotton balls and soak them in the vinegar and then your scalp do this then wrap your hair in towel and leave it for 15mins to an hour, now girl I'm not gonna lie the smell Will nearly blind you , but it goes when you wash out your hair.I worked in a health food store for several years and i new a lady with this same problem. She had lost nearly all her hair due to what she had been doing to it , soooo just give it a try and you'll see for yourself. No blow drying or curling irons or any thing like that. You do this about (3 times a week)You can also pick up some B vitamins great for your hair or just Biotin take it every day, you will see results. This really works!!!

I guess patience is key here. I would suggest keeping it trimmed regularly and using a good conditioner. I have a product for balding, but if yours is just from "ripping" it out, I'm not sure it is what you need.

Be sure to drink plenty of water, eat enough protein and take a good vitamin supplement since beauty starts on the inside (literally).

Until your hair regains its health, perhaps some cool scarves would spice up your look? Don't wear hats, though, you will suffocate your scalp and your hair won't be able to grow as well.

Shave your whole head and start from scratch.

First off you should take a bio-indentical hormone
replacement therapy, sometimes hormones
will make your hair very thin.

Plus, by mannatech is a good one. You should
get a salivary hormone analysis of your hormones
because that may be why your hair is too thin.

Get some gelatin in your diet, zinc, and
b vitamins. THese are all necessary for
strong hair.

Massaging coconut oil o the scalp is good too.

you have to let it grow back on its own. don't use extentions or anything, use an oil or moisturizer (not grease) and comb it through your hair twice a day. every month, change the type of oil or moisturizer. it will be more effective that way. to fix the damage done, you have to cut your hair shorter, let it grow a bit, cut it again, let it grow a bit, and continue. eventually, healthy hair will grow back and you can let your hair grow out as long as you want.

You should really consider going back natural. Seems as though you have put your hair through alot of unnecessary stress and now you are paying for it.

There are many women on Nappturality.com who have been through the same thing and now have a head full of beautiful, natural hair.

never heard of laser surgery for hair..

but it sounds like you are going to have to start over and cut your hair really short (cutting off all the damaged ends)

that's all I know.

honestly once u've damaged it there's really no going back...u'll have to cut it off and start over....I've been there...it's emotionally painful but once u get used to it and appreciate ur hair it will grow back well...btw invest in a SILK hair wrap for sleeping at night...makes the most difference...

start by washing it every three days.
then you start doing hot oil treatments once a week
dont use a flat iron or a blowdryer
the heat will damage it even more
