It used to bother me. Sometimes these questions would float around in my head pervasively for weeks at a time. Then I realized I was taking life way too seriously. You'll go crazy if you try to live up to someone else ideals, or rules, or religion. Books were written by men. Religions were created by people. All that matters is what works for you. What gets you through the day. I have three simple guidelines which I've found never fail me.

1) Don't harm your own life
2) Don't harm other life
3) Whenever possible, try and leave things better than you find them.

I can't see how you could ever be judged harshly for following this doctrine.

Why should it bother you? I'm a Buddhist. I don't worship a god, man, or any other entity. I live for the moment, I strive to not ask questions about the past. I cannot change it. I don't worry about the after-life. If there is a god, great, if there isn't even better. By living in the moment I have the best chance of not getting confused on such petty questions. I have the best chance of helping both myself and others around me. As far as the after-life is concerned. It may exist, and it may not. Maybe I'll re-reincarnate, and maybe I won't, where I'm at right now is the important thing. When I die the circle of life will continue and the world will still be here. I hope you find peace and happiness in your life and stop worrying about death so much. It is just another phase in the balance of the world.

Relax, breath... your not gonna burn for being confused. Think about this, what came first? the chicken,or the egg. If you wanted to, you can go nuts thinking about it. But you don't. Why? Because you know there are chickens, and it really doesn't matter enough what came first. All that matters is believing ! Education confuses some people into believing that faith in God or any Deity can't be. Because there is no scientific proof. Therein lies the enigma. Faith doesn't need proof. Accept the scientific. But believe.

I can COMPLETELY sympathize with you; I am going through the exact same thing right now...I am at a point where I just want to give up my quest for the truth and go back to Christianity, and not question it and just find out what happens when I die. That's all any of us can do anyways; if the absolute truth were known, we wouldn't need forums like this one!

The Book of Genesis the first chapter should clear your mind about this ?? We are all responsible for our own lives and certainly for our soul that lives on after we die. Your soul is either Hell bound or could be Heaven bound! Hell is eternal fire of pain and agony, no way out. But you can change all of that if you will repent your sins to Jesus & find a Spirit filled Church. You will experience the most wonderful joy, here on this earth. Jesus said to knock & He will answer. Read is word & pray daily. Ask God for guidances & wisdom to understand His message for all.

People just have to have faith. I do not think you have been correctly presented with the right story. When you are it will all click for you and you will know what is the right path. That's how it was for me. Oh, and "Jayelle", I'm sorry to hear that you do not believe in hell, but I fear it is a very real place and I never like to see anyone go there. I will pray for you if you will allow me to.

No, it doesn't bother me that I don't know where we came from. The very first spark of life. Who cares. You are here now, make the best of it. Help the lifeforms around you now. Enjoy your life. Don't worry about where we came from, or where you are going. Most likely it won't matter.

Lighten up dude, it isn't that important. What is important is your family, your friends, your community. It is important to take care of those in need. It is important to learn new things and improve your world. The answer to your existential questions will be answered as you work with others for the common good.

The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it doesn't have to be that way for you. If you will just accept the Bible by faith, you can move on with your life to better things. Sadly though, Satan knows that if he can keep you asking that same question (which by the way, no one can give you an acceptable answer to) until your death, then he wins. Consider that.

Really wanna know?? Set up a study with a Jehovah's Witness and find out what the Bible really says--not just what some guy says it says.
