A plumber, a builder??? I have no clue. The gas fitter who installed the stove and cooktop said an electrician but the electrician said he couldn't do the ducted ones. Who the heck should I ring?

You're looking for a residential remodel general contractor.
I do work of this type every month....

A good place to get a referral to a gen. contractor who can do this type work is to call any good realty office, like the one you used when you purchased your home. Realtors usually have a number of good people they use on file.

If you still have trouble finding someone in your area, email me here and I'm sure I can help you find a good licensenced Contractor.

Just installed one today, and I am a builder/remodeling contractor. The jest of the work is done by an air conditioning contractor. You might find one (A/C contractor) that would install the hood as well, but you'll need a 110 outlet if one is not there. make sure that it is vented through the roof and not into your attic space.
