If you want to be a surgeon (neurosurgeon), do you HAVE to stomach these photograph of suicide, ie. pictures of decapetated man on the tracks...? Is it true that if you can't stand these things you can't become a surgeon?
p.s I have no problem with these things, at all! I can look at a blown up head all day if I like and get bored of it and even analyze where the hypothalamus was located. lol.

I'm glad there are people who can take that stuff, because I sure can't. A look at the Discovery Health Channel shows that surgeons have to stomach lots of gory stuff and keep their nerves steady.

Phobia, well I don't know if that's the word. I really don't go out of my way to look at them. I find it funny that you have no problem with that and you seem like you want to become a surgeon. My friend and I always said we believe that surgeons are one step away from serial killers, they have just channeled their psycosis into something that society will accept. Good Luck.

Somone on yahoo answers had a link once to a website that had unedited pictures of accidents. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I clicked on one and there was a guy who been thrown under a car from a motorcycle accident. When I tell you it felt like something was crushing my spirit from the inside...it was a horrifying experience. It took weeks to get over having seen that awful picture.
I can't imagine how things like that can not affect some people.

id say its not true that if you cant stand them, you cant become a surgeon..
but id also say...
that its recommended that you can look at gory pictures.
