They are GREAT dogs. I have one that is very mellow, well behaved, and he is absolutely great with kids. I know a few dozen other Berners and they are all the same way. I have never met a Berner that was not abused that was aggressive. The only one that I have seen that was aggressive had been horribly beaten and almost starved to death, and he was only aggressive because he was extremely fearful of everyone.

Bernese mountain dogs are not really good with kids...My friend had one and it bit his arm so he had to give it to the animal shelter.They tend to get angry if you do something wrong like not feeding it on time,etc.That's all I know about bernese mountain dogs.It might be different for other bernese mountain dogs though.It sort of depends...

look in the back of the Dog World Mag. for the breed or go on the AKC site ( akc.org ) to get the information you need. all i heard is that they are very good temperment dogs.
