Is it anyway possible for someone that has no sense of smell to still be able to taste things like food, drink, etc?

I know its a stupid question but i just wanted to see if someone isn't shooting me a line of BS.

I've read that without a sense of smell you can't taste food. If you have no taste it could be from lack of zinc. Why not go to a health food store and try it? You could be very pleasantly surprised!. Happened to a friend of ours. She couldn't taste a hamburger. Took some Zinc, tasted fine!
