The rest of the parts--speakers, remotes, video circuity, can be quite different.

It is not uncommon for the big companies to collaborate on making products with the same parts. It is sometimes more cost effective for the two companies to put their heads together and come up with a common answer they can both use. Sony does this a lot with PC batteries.

They may use similar or even the same panels, but both TVs are designed by two completely different teams
