Hebrews 4:12 (New International Version)
12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

1 Timothy 1:15 (Amplified Bible)
15The saying is sure and true and worthy of full and universal acceptance, that Christ Jesus (the Messiah) came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.

Ephesians 2:8 (English Standard Version)
8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

Okay: The point about Christ is not the denomination. It is whether or not you believe Jesus is the Son of God, that He came to earth and died on the cross for your sins. I have never been into the denominational thing. In fact, whenever someone asks me what religion I am I simply reply, 'Follower of Christ.'

The Bible is living and active and discerns your heart. God speaks to people through it. Each time you open it up, ask God to speak to you and show you something. He will. God is real whether you want to believe it or not. Either you believe it or you don't, but your belief or unbelief will one day have eternal consequences. You will either be in Heaven with God or separated from Him for eternity. It is that cut and dry. I choose eternity with God. Also, it is not up to me or any other Christian to convert you. The Holy Spirit does the convincing... I pray you will come to know the Lord and have a personal relationship with Him. And as they say, "Choose Wisely."

How is your relationship with God?
How does the Holy Spirit speak to you concerning the Bible?
The Bible says about drawing nearer to God. Does all denominations bring you nearer to God or keep your faith on "even keel?"
Are you interested in pleasing people or pleasing God?
Is the church interested in the truth or "keeping the congregation happy?"
Is the truth effective in your life?

I will lay this out solidly, the Holy Spirit is your guard and your teacher. If the word being taught is not being confirmed in your spirit with the Holy Ghost, it should not be accepted. Regardless of the church.
God will not go against His own Word.

No one is perfect yet. Matthew 7:13-23 says by their fruits you will know them, not everyone saying "Lord,Lord" is exceptable by God. Look at the teachings not the people. Yes the people should reflect the teachings but the basic truths of the Bible should be taught and practiced. People are imperfect; therefore the ransom sacrifice for those who unintentionally sin. Do they inculcate pagan origins in their worship, such as idols, celebrations of pagan origin in the guise of Christainity? God must be worshipped in Spirit and in truth the Bible tells us. He didn't allow pagan rituals to be inculcated in his worship in early Christain times Exodus 32: 1-35 nor does He want that now. So what if the church has Bingo? Jesus threw the sellers out of the temple because he said "they were making His father's house a cave of robbers," Matthew 21: 13 yet they were only selling doves for worshippers. But they were really extorting the people. You must really sit down and ask God's spirit to guide you in your study. If you truely have the right heart condition God knows that and will send the Holy Spirit to help you. The main thing is to pray. Nothing fancy, God knows what you want if you are sincere, just talk to him just like he were a person sitting next to you. May your prayers be answered.

It is apparent to me that you have never been in a large room full of Christians. It is great! Sure we may disagree on some things in the Bible, but not the things that matter about Christ. This proves we are not zombies. Each denomination thinks for itself.

My christian advice is for you to investigate them all, search for truth, test their doctrines, test the spirits within them as the Bible said in 1John4:1

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

I don't expect to convert anyone. I simply present the gospel, which never changes, and let the Holy Spirit do the convicting. Some plant, some water, and the Holy Spirit does the harvesting.

You only need to take a cursory look at the old testament to see why Christians are forced to cherry pick only the parts of the bible that won't get them locked up by any modern-day society.

That's like saying, "Why do you expect people to move to America, when everyone can't even agree on the what the Constitution says?"

I think it makes perfect sense that different people would read it and understand it different ways.

Who cares what they think? Just get over it. It seems like every question on here lately is something about "Christians why do you do this?" The same could be said for any religion, including my own(escpecially) Wicca. Even athiests don't agree on everything.

I think that is one of Satans plans. He devides the church so that unbelievers such as yourself, can use this arguement. One thing that all Christian churches agree on is that the bible is 100% true. Don't blame God for mans misinterpretation.
