this one has an actuator on it that helps it lock in,the front hubs wont lock because the actuator isn't working on it,its a solenoid device that makes it lock the front differential in ,there's also a fuse for it ,you might check the fuse panel and see if it has blown, you might get lucky on it,and it just be a fuse,if not your going to need an actuator for it,,may be a dealer item too,i always buy from a dealer anyway,,they cost around 70 bucks new, good luck ,hope this help,s.,,PS this is a real simple device to put on,you can also check it by putting 12 volts strait to it,sometimes the switch that kicks it in goes bad, there's a plug you can take loose and apply 12 volts to it,t check it,good luck ,you need a good repair manual for this truck also.

I had the same problem before and it ended up being the fuse, I'd check that first, but anything else I would read dodge man's post he pretty much hit the nail on the head

I think you hit it on the head. It very well could be the hubs. Had a ford ranger. Put it in 4x4 and (the lights were on though unlike yours).Everything seemed fine. But only the rear wheels were spinning.

Some systems run off vacuum and some electric solenoid, check the fuses and look for diconnected vacuum lines or wires.
