I recently found out due to past agreement with lease or payment, my landlord end up have a four bedrooms apartment to himself for 350 a month. The apt cost 1,080 a month.

He rented out three rooms for 350 each per month. So basically he's making 1,050 a month beforehe even pay his part for lease. So he make 700 in profit a month. However he pay all ulities include multi channels television and high speed internet.

I confronted him about it, I was shocked he didn't even make any attempt to hide this. He straight out say yes he pay only 350 for lease and rest of the tetants rent goes to ulities or into his pocket.

I tried to talk him into charge everyone only 100 while he can pay 50 or so a month. He refuse to have any of it. He simply say "well I got all neat furnitures for all of you. I let everyone use shelf full of books and my playstation 2 and 360 x box on my big screen television.

I'm not greedy when it come to foods, I cook and leave out huge breakfast or dinner once or twice a week.I have extra blankets that you're allows to use. I have a maid come in once a week to keep this place super clean. I let all of you use internet, and more. I also even let you slide away with not pay full rent last month. So I think you should be really grateful for all of this. If you doesn't like it, well you know where the door is, no one is keeping you here"

I admit he's right about those, but I can't help it but feel like he rip everyone off. He have a career that pay decently. The lease last 8 months. Is he ripping people off or not?

im not following.. so your saying that your landlord owns a 4 bedroom and rents out each bedroom for 350.00 per month. right so far?

so 3 bedrooms being rented out.

hes in the other one. and pays utlities.

hes subletting kid. your not being ripped off he got the apartment and the extra rooms and is doing the smart thing for his money. its common in the real estate world.

sublet means the person who rents the apt from the owner rents out the additional space to others..

so you have OWNER::::YOUR LANDLORD::::YOU & 2 others

thats common.. nah your fine. and 350 is cheap for all those utlities and room. be grateful

From what I can gather, because you are in a full furnished home where everyone shares meals and you are not responsible for separate utilities, you are actually getting a deal. That 700 dollars doesn't go far when he is paying for cable, phone(?), Internet, gas,and electricity. If he also provides the occasional meal, even more to his benefit.
It's a good thing that he didn't try to hide it. He is being an honest person.
The only way that I would worry in a situation like this is if the home was in a state of dis-repair or you had to deal with shut-off notices all the time.
When all is said and done, my husband and I pay out about 1,500 dollars at the end of the month. This includes rent, utilities, diapers and food, as well as settling some debt that we owe. We are a family of three.

no. actually, you seem to be getting a pretty good deal out of it all. this is what sub letting is all about. why should he lose money because you dont want to pay what is a pretty good price? it seems that he pays for the majority of the bills etc. the cost of that for 4 people would be pretty big. it is his good luck that he can get some money spare. i am sure if you could do it, you would. so would i.

sounds fair to me if you paye dal those bills on your own and rent its way over 700 so hes helping himself which in turn is helping you i would be ok with it if you feel it is wrong of him think about looking for a new apt.but i sure wish all i pd was 350 a month

I don't think you are being ripped off. I would assume that if I rented a room from someone that they would be making money off of me. That's ewhy you rent out. He's giving up his privacy too. I wouldn't do that for free. If it were a family member, maybe not though.

it's entirely up to him as long as he is legally renting, he's allowed to do that, and it sounds to me like your getting a lot for your money.

Ya, he's putting money in his pocket, but who pays when a big bill comes up or a major repair has to be done ,the money has to come from somewhere.

He's not your parent, he's not letting you stay there out of the goodness of his heart, he's doing it as a business. Sounds like you are both getting a pretty good deal out of it.
