The person expects some time in between seeing the other person for a while usually to think about where the relationship is headed as far as that person is concerned. It is best under these circumstances not to contact the individual for at least a week or so and then it is ok to call them to see how they are doing and see if anything has changed. This si true unless the individual has stated not to call them but they will call you when they are ready. Understand?

I assume that you didn't watch the tv show Friends very often?

A recurring joke on the show was the actual meaning of a "break." Rachel, the girl, wanted a break from Ross, the guy. Ross went off and slept with somebody else. Rachel then tried to get back together, but changed her mind when she found out that he had slept with someone else during the break. She held that grudge for years.

Moral of the story: a "break" means something different to everybody, and you need to find out what your significant other meant before you go sleeping around.

Assuming you wanna get back together: give him/her space, but make your intentions and desires VERY clear. Offer to go to couples therapy. They wont take you up on it, but it's the thought that counts. Establish a daily routine of affection- you can have flowers delivered regularly, send a card daily, leave daily voicemails, write her a poem a day, anything to let her know that you're thinking about her.

A break means they wanna break up but they just can't get it out straight and its also a way to test the waters, if the water is bitter, they'll come back to you which rarely happens but if the water is sweet, they'll leave u 4 real. Wake up gal, a break means "Yo we need to break up"

It means they have met someone else, and they don't want to completely crush you. Just break it in gently that you two are done. Time to move on with your life.

To me that means that they really don't want to be in the relationship anymore and they have to sort out their problems and decide on what they want in life!! All you can really do is wait around and maybe try to see what you really want in life and if that person is the one for you!!

if you need to take a break you probably shouldn't be togther. people who have relationships that work don't need to take breaks and dont' want to take breaks. couples who are happy with eachother want to be with eachother all the time. you need to take a long break. one that last a life time.
