Cars are not made to go swimming. If a car is flooded, there are going to be problems with it!! When water gets into the electrical wiring, it can cause corrosion and the problems may show up years later.
I will not buy a flood vehicle, unless it costs less than I can get from a scrap yard!!

Short term yes but the long term dependability of the car is compromised a lot by the water. This shows up as electrical problems from corrosion and rust problems from panels that weren't ever expected to see water.
Every flood damaged car I've worked on has been a pain and the owners weren't as happy as they thought they would be by "saving money".

Most cars involved in floods are automatically considered a total loss. My brother tried driving my mom's car thru watrer too deep. Once the distributor dried off, we were able to limp it home, but the ins. co said the $10k car was a total write off. Mold develps in the upholstery and the wiring system can have problems spring up over and over again.

It's a huge risk especially on a car that is known for having electrical problems anyway. Not worth it.
