I have listened in the past - my opinion?
I think his organization does a great deal of good and he has taken the lead in many noble causes...
but I have been turned off more than a few times by him because he has a tendency to get overtly angry when he discusses the other side of issues he has taken up, and I have even heard him name-call. I don't like to hear him rant - not enough respect for others who think differently, which should be a given for a Christian leader.
I am a Christian - and we are always, in God's love, to take the higher road.
I think it has greatly damaged my opinion of him and his thinking, because it is not necessary to get publicly angry - especially repeatedly. I have kind of formed an opinion/reputation of him based on this and have stopped following him.

Dr. Dobson is a nice enough fellow. He seems to be a very good man, and has written some really good books on the family. I respect him.

growing up, my parents did, later as a teen I read some of the ultra conservative books

preference aside to atheism, I found SOME good things to say, but after he sided with Bush and his ilk, used 'god' to try and manipulate politics and sway votes, I say people of his ilk are nothing more than a shill and a pundit of dollar signs

If he preach Psychology as way to Christian Living - he is wrong,
only rebirth through belief and acceptance of Salvation by Christ can make you right with God.

He truly cares about the family and the goes against the new age/liberal beliefs that could ultimately destroy America.

Not many Christians stand up for moral clarity anymore.
