Q: canine RUBS BUTT ON RUG My canine is starting up to rub her butt on the rug as if she is itching. She 6 year. and not in any respect did this previously, is it a clinical venture or undesirable habit? -W A: pricey W, it really is unquestionably no longer a nasty habit. There are 2 causes a canine does this: both clogged anal sacs (which i'm guessing this one is), or uncomfortable/runny poop. typically a canine with diarhhea or maybe constipation could have some anal inflammation, that could itch (variety of like hemorrhoids in human beings). If her poop is frequent, this is totally likely to be clogged anal sacs, this is quite uncomplicated, quite in middle-elderly or older canine. Anal sacs are little glands by potential of the anus which comprise a musky, oily substance this is produced for marking and mating habit. it really is this substance this is the source of the "stink" that takes position even as an intact male canine is mounting different canine. As canine become older, and exceptionally in the adventure that they are spayed/neutered, it really is uncomplicated for those glands to change into clogged. this is uncomfortable and itchy, and extremely a lot always outcomes interior the bum-rubbing habit you describe. typically canine will also lick the area excessively. this is low-priced and quick to have your veterinarian sparkling out her anal sacs, and it really is something that your vet could have finished 1000's of circumstances previously. She shouldn't opt to be anesthetized for this technique, and it in uncomplicated words takes a pair of hours, if that. basically be happy you do not might want to be round even as it takes position - the stink places skunks to shame!

Maybe give her a bath, she might be dirty and needs the dried waste taken off. Thats only if your 100% she does not have worms. If you dont know for sure take her to the vet.

sound gross.. but if its not worms and you know it.. then she knows cause they know.. that she jsut doesnt feel clean .. so when she comes back in from doing her thing.. you might need to help reassure her as well as save yoru carpet , furniture, but using something like flushables..
definitly call a vet though.. that was just the problem i had and how i helped my baby work thru it.. yours could be soemthing else.. but who knows.. could be worth a shot??

She needs her anal glands excised. They are probably bothering her. You can have the Vet or a groomer do it. You can be taught to do it yourself, but it's not very pleasent. And, what comes out doesn't smell like roses.
