i recently got a new black lab male. he's 11 months old. i also have parrot, which doesnt really give a hell haha..1 of my cats wont come out of hiding unless the dog is in the other room, and the other cat runs for her life and hisses at me everytime she see's the dog. what should i do?!?!?!!??!?! please help..i just have to get them to somewhat get along..

The lab is not intimidating them, its just that the cats are not used to him and want their territory back the way it was. THe bird doesnt care cause it knows its smarter than the dog and can fly anywhere it wants to. I had a friend whose Parrot would immitate the dog barking to get the dog in trouble. The cats will come around once they figure that the dog is there to stay. labs are great animals, a little rambunctious at that age, but generally gentle. Give the cats attention so they know they are not being replaced.

A choke-collar and a leash for starters. Everytime he lunges at the cats, firmly correct it.

please find the dog whisper on dvd or in books his name is Ceaser. he should be able to help you with you problem and yes do as the other person has said with the leash and collar but you might get a pinch collar
