To have a family. Because they love kids and want some of their own. Because they want to.

Some people don't want kids. I know I didn't when I was younger but since the unexpected birth of our son a few years ago I now see what all the fuss is about. It's impossible to describe until it actually happens to you but becoming a parent has transformed me and as he gets older it just gets better. I love seeing life through his innocent eyes and watching him discover the world. Parenting is a huge responsibility and sometimes challenging but the more you put into it, the more you get out. There is surely no greater happiness.

Inborn, evolutionary drive to procreate. Also, I knew I'd always regret never having done it and would always wonder what it would have been like to be a parent. Finally, I felt like I would be missing out on part of life and part of my own development as a person if I didn't become a parent. (Boy, was I right on that last one.)
All those reasons are pretty selfish, but that's okay. Selfishness definitely takes a backseat after the kid gets here. Then, you realize that the child's happiness is more important than anything and that you would do anything and sacrifice anything to provide for your child.
I didn't always want a child, but now I realize I didn't want one earlier because I wasn't ready for one.

For emotional reasons, ie, they "love" kids.
But they're not willing to take in hard to place kids who have no parents or homes and could use some of that love.

PROBABLY BECAUSE WE AS " HUMANS " HAVE THE CAPACITY TO CREATE. SO WE WANT TO TRY OUT THIS ABILITY USUALLY WITHOUT REALIZING THE CONSEQUENCES.PROBABLY TO SEE IF IT WORKS. LIKE A NEW TOY . TRY IT OUT.! ONE OF MY SISTERS NEVER HAD ANY KIIDS- - - - SHE WAS THE SMARTEST OF THE WHOLE BUNCH OF US. SOME PEOPLE NEED A CROWD AROUND THEM ALL THE TIME. SOME PEOPLE HAVE A SLEW OF KIDS BECAUSE THEN NONE OF THEM WILL BE SPOILED ROTTEN.. WHO KNOWS ???????????! ! !
