in the past 2 years i have been trying to be wife, mom, student, maid, employee, and volunteer in my kids school all at the same time.
my husband works 3rds so when he gets home i wake the kids and get them ready for school, they get inside and i am off to classes myself, then i rush home to get the kids before we all run to the store or out to pay bills before work so that i at least get to eat 1 meal a day, when i get to work we sit in the lounge and eat as a family before my rush hour begins and i start checking in guest at the hotel, my husband goes home and does his homework while helping the kids do theirs, then when i get home my husband is on his way to work and has just gotten the kids in bed so i stay up and clean house....... thing is i now go 3 or 4 days without ever seeing a bed and when i actually do get to bed i sit there and worry about what i am not getting done. my eyes are looking bad and i am always feeling sluggish. when do i sleep?

Well you can start by not answering so much on Y/A.
Any form of audio or visual media excites the brain which delays the process of actually falling asleep. Stay off the computer and don't listen to music before you goto bed. They just get in the way.
You also HAVE to make an official schedule for yourself. As we grow up we stretch the excuse farther and farther about how we can take care of ourselves without adhering to a strict agenda like we had to as kids when we were bossed around. Fact is the reason we're exposed to agenda's like that is to ingrain the habit, not to punish us. Sit down, chill out, and focus on drawing up a schedule for the following week considering everything from making coffee and going to bed, to driving to work and making dinner. You absolutely HAVE to make an official schedule for yourself.
Lastly, let go and let your friends and neighbors help you out. Don't be afraid to car pool (or make your kids ride the bus, it's really not that bad), don't be afraid to send the kids over next door to hang out and do homework, and don't be afraid to do the same for them. This last part is key, but it shouldn't be treated as a chore (otherwise you'll just be stressing yourself out even further).
My mom told me that the key to living stress free is being organized yet honest. You can straighten things out all you want and work as hard as you can forever, but unless you do what you know is right in the direction you know is the right way to go, you're going to be stuck like this for a long long time.

Sounds like your a very busy devoted mother and wife. A little sound advise, this could all catch up to you and you could be slowing setting your self up for illness, mental or physical. You absolutely NEED rest or you will get sick.. see what you can afford to cut out of your routine to get some needed rest. Your only one person and can be stretched only so far until you break!!! Take some time for your self.. like letting the house work go and going to bed at night.. Your house will still be there in the morning or at a later time.. get the kids to pitch in or save the house work for the week ends.. Sleep and good health is far more important.. You need to treat your self to a little relaxation before you can't do any of it, because your wore out... :)

Been there, done that. Yes, you did forget how to sleep, you are so stressed that your mind can't let go.
I think this can also be called burn out. You need a break, is that ever possible, do you have family or close friends that can come in and help for a little while? In my neighborhood, there is a group of us that volunteer to help in families that are just overstressed. Of course, you have to interview and check people out - check through your neighborhood family service organizations. Our philosophy is healthy families make strong neighborhoods. We also help out the poor and the ill and the elderly, a lot of the help is provided for families that have an ill memeber in taking over caretaking for a while to givethem a break.

well, i;m 14 but I know how you feel. My dad is just like that. He works at microsoft and never gets any sleep and is always stressed out. Don't worry, i;m guessing that being a parent is very hard work. Try to shorten your schedule and soend more time enjoiying life rather thn gettting everything just done. Life is not worth wasting klike thta. Have a fun games night with your husband and kids and sometimes, just take a moment to yourself. Relax, and try to devote atleast 8 hours of sleep every night.!

Heres a tip before you go to bed write down a list of what you need to do the next day. After that it wont be on your mind anymore and you can stop worrying : )

You're over stimulated. I used over the counter low dose sleeping pills to help me. They didn't make me feel groggy if I only took one.

You don't "forget how to sleep". See a doctor about sleep aids or try your local pharmacy.
