I realize that this may not be what you are looking for, but if it is not proof, I don't know what is.
I am thirty one years old. Currently quitting smoking. My cousin died a couple of months ago, a heavy smoker, of lung cancer at the age of thirty four. I didn't think it would ever happen to anyone as young as I am. And I am not the anti-smoking brigade. It would have taken so much to make me quit....but later. Now, I realize that it is so necessary...it can happen in your thirties. Though this is not a website, or literary proof, I hope that it will make you consider that smoking is deadly. Thanks.

Smoking abuses various parts of the body: your teeth, throat, lungs, etc. This dirty habit not only affects you, but those around you as well.
Exactly what type of proof are you looking for? If you won't accept doctors' opinions, then what will you believe?
I reluctantly believe in a person's right to smoke. But why die with lung cancer, heart failure, or some other dreadful death?

Well why not go to your local nursing home and ask if they have any residents with end stage COPD there and ask if you can visit them. Most of them will tell you that smoking is what damaged their lungs and caused the COPD. As you visit with them watch how air hungry or starved for air they are even though they have their oxygen tubing on and it is set at 5-6 liters. Listen to them audibly trying to breathe while they talk. If this isn't proof that smoking kills you then I don't what is proof. End stage COPD is one of the worst ways to die and the main cause is smoking.

Ok but if you want a personal proof...Smoke 60 fags per day and you'll see the results...But honestly opinions of government doctors are not for nothing...Go in a cancer ward and ask those people suffering from lung cancer, how they got it...Its really not good to smoke...

i'm a chronic smoker, my eyes bone structure literally changed after inhaling so much cigarette smoke ( I do it from stress and can't stop, as i said, chronic ) , my lungs are almost sealed, i can't breathe, i hardly breathe when i sleep, my left thigh started hurting ( there are stories about people having one of their legs amputated because of smoking ) , constant hearrtburn, liver problems, headaches , coughing, trying to get it all out, but can't , puked several times already trying to get it out
but i only keep smoking because i'm self destructive, life has been a ***** ( i'm 25 )
so if you're asking this because you consider smoking harmless
forget it, it makes you stressed out if you're not getting a nicotine puff, you could reach depression, but if you're seriously hooked, you wont give up on the smoke
why become hooked now? let go of it , its ****, **** you have to pay for

well how are you going to get "scientific" proof without doctors? How are you going to do a clinical trial without a doctor?
You are excluding people who have spent years studying to become doctors, then more years in practice and continuing to study but their independent, validated and peer reviewed studies are not proof for you.
You could go to a scientific journal but......... well many of their articles are written by doctors.
so you are going to just ask people in the local pub

you stupid invaceal. you dont have to be a rocket scientist to work that one out. i think if there was an award for 'tosser of the year'..... then i would say there would only be one winner.........

anytime you put something in your lungs that is not oxygen you are harming yourself. Do that several times a day everyday and theres no question your health will decline.
