Some of my friends and I want to start a small group, but we're not very sure how to go about doing it. There are about 6 of us, and we're all 15- or 16-years-old. Last summer we had meetings for seven weeks, while my sister was home from college to help us out, and we went through a book together. We got sort of bored of the book, though, and wanted to be a little more active, but we can't come up with anything that sounds that good. There have also been some changes in the group since last summer, and most of us don't know each other that well. They expect me to lead it, but I'm not very sure what to do. Could someone help me think of ideas? Our group doesn't have a very firm foundation right now...

Divide your time into different segments. Use one for Word study. Use another segment for discussion on what ever!
Use another segment for prayer time. Use another for getting to know you time, think of ways or games you can use to get people to talk about themselves so you can get closer and learn more about each other. Do a monthly or quarterly social event, maybe dinner or some kind of sporting event or cultural event.

Having fun together is very important. If you are too serious too much of the time, you will get tired of each other and not learn and grow together.

Book ideas may be powerful, good books that you can work on together.

A Purpose Driven Life is popular just now.
A number of Max Lucado books would fit.
Call the youth pastor of a local church and check in with what they are using.
God's speed.

Use Rick Warrens The Purpose Driven Life, and maybe do a couple of service projects at Church or in your community.
