Yes, there are good reasons to do so as if your dog has any parasites and other dogs sniff or lick it they will get them too and eventually they can be passed on to you.

There are many nasty looking parasites that can find your dog as a host and then find you to be just as welcoming, so it is very important to clean up after your dog.

I think that you should and I always pick up my dogs' poop. I have one of those little plastic things that hang on a Flexi lead, which are really handy and not very expensive. In my city it is a $75 fine if you do not pick up the poop, but even if you do not have fines in your city you still need to pick it up. It is really rude if you don't.

finding out on up after their canines and casting off its waste is area of to blame canines possession they sidestep for the reason that's disgusting – whether that's a criminal requirement and morally indefensible to circulate away it there for individuals and canines to step in - or bag and circulate away it via fact they're lazy and can't be hassle to hold it to the subsequent canines waste bin. As a canines proprietor I dislike people who pollute the ecosystem with their canines’s waste via fact it provides all canines vendors a bad call as irresponsible, lazy and thoughtless of others. I even have canines waste bag in very almost each and every coat pocket and as quickly as I fish around interior for something else, frequently pull out a minimum of one bag. no longer all components of possessing a canines are friendly and that's considered one of them, yet it isn't any excuse to no longer do it.

If you allow your dog to go somewhere you know someone else can step in it then yes you should pick it up.
But if you're out somewhere that's remote then why bother.
