Recently I discovered a rather large lump aproximately the size of a quarter in the section under my jaw bone & before where my neck starts. It is deep in the skin, moves freely when I touch it, and does not really hurt. Any ideas as to what this may be? Plz. dont tell me to go to a doctor - that is obvious advice. I am looking for any individuals who had similiar issues or have an helpful information to share. Thanks

Well, it has all the signs of a tumor. I had one in my armpit that was deep, it moved around, and didn't hurt, but i could feel it there. It ended up being non cancerous or benign. I know you don't want to hear it, but go to a doctor. If it is indeed a tumor they can treat it and catch it before it becomes more of a problem cosmetically and possibly to your life. Let us know what the doc says! How long has this been there? It could be a simple cyst, or that you are getting sick with a cold or etc. Sometimes the lymph nodes swell for various reasons. If swelling is there for 2 weeks or more go to a doc immediately.

Go to your dermotologist and they will check it out for you. When there is any lump at all it is always wise to go and have it checked even if you think it is nothing. I have a small lump just under the tissue ( having recently pinched it in a door) on my finger and the GP told me to go to the dermotologist.

You probably have an infection in one of your lymphnoids causing the gland to swell. Go to a doctor, they will give you an antibiotic to clear it up.
