i had this debate with myself and decided to do the more "noble" thing and get a mutt. well...you can't really predict what size a mutt will be...and long story short, the dog was HUGE!! she went 50lbs beyond what the vet said!
basically, the dog didn't fit my lifestyle, and i didn't meet her needs. i found a great home for her at my uncles farm....but it was a learning experience for me. the next time i got a known breed, with a predictable size!
i guess it depends on what your needs are, but for me, i should have been less concerned with doing the "right thing" because the right thing was getting a dog that fit my lifestyle. giving away my first dog sure didn't make me or her feel good, and i could have avoided it if i hadn't been so concerned with not looking like a snob.

A pedigree is just one thing that shows a dogs's mothers and fathers, grandparents, super grandparents, and super super grandparents-supply or take how super, or small of a pedigree you create. incredibly, a genealogy. Now, this suggests not something, through fact there could be crap on a pedigree. entire crap. So except that Pedigree is roofed with CHs, and different titles, that pedigree is a valueless piece of paper. Now, in case you fairly be conscious of what you're doing in breeding dogs, then you fairly may be conscious of that there is a such element as a different sire clutter, and that in case you pass with the aid of with this clutter besides, you will could get each physique DNAd, and registered to the appropriate father. for the reason that needless to say, you may in basic terms be breeding for high quality puppies, that are generally DNAd by the proprietors through fact it incredibly is required by a super form of competitions, as an occasion showing at maximum national distinctiveness shows.

I've had many pure bred dogs and a few mutts. The mutts had less health problems, but as a puppy you can't always tell how big they will get. If size isn't an issue, go with whichever one you like best and will make you happy.

Mixed breed dogs tend to have far fewer health problems, in general. However, Pure-breds have more predictable personalities. It's pretty easy to know when buying a pure-bred aussie that it's going to herd you and everyone else in the household. You just can't say with any certainty with mixed breed dogs.
overall, I do prefer a mix.

If by non-pedigree you mean mutt, I would definitely say mutt :) Much healthier, because of a bigger gene pool, and much more fun. Shelter mutts are the best!
