If you asked your aunt, you'd probably get better information than you would from here.
The basic difference between a so-called "white witch" and a so-called "black witch" is their intent. Magic is not "black" or "white", it is a tool. How it is used is what makes the difference.
Those who follow the Wiccan religion embrace the Wiccan Rede, which states (in part) "An it harm none, do as ye will." Which basically means that we have to think about our actions and how they impact ourselves and others, and figure out whether those actions would be harmful (to ourselves or to others), and that we are responsible for the consequences of our actions.
Not all magic users are Wiccan, and not all magic users follow the Rede.
I did not see the Tyra show that talked about this, but the reviews I read on one of the Wiccan boards weren't very favorable.

In the movie "The Craft" the Occult bookstore owner says that "true magic is neither black nor white. It all depends on the heart of the witch".

Haven't seen THE BIG Tyra show yet... but it's taped and I'll watch it tomorrow...
Sorry but when I hear "black vs white witches" I just think of their skin colors.

No I do not believe it as a religion, however I do know many practice it. Anyway, how many ex witches was on the show? Witches, like atheists, sooner or later realize the evil in the practice and turn to the true God. Just wondered, seriously.

There is no such thing as black and white witches. Everybody has a light and dark side. It all depends on how you use it. It is the intent behind your actions that matter. If you do good things, good will return to you. If you do bad things, bad will return to you.

They are both witches
Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

None at all. Both are "witches" so both are trying to control nature for their own purposes. Those who seize the label "white" merely assume that their brand of deeds are better than others. This is much of the fun, I understand, of the play "Wicked," that good and bad can be a matter of whose side you're on. As far as sides are concerned, BOTH types of witches are the side of God's enemy, as He dislikes the entire notion of trying to control things. He does that quite well by Himself, thank you very much. He'd prefer that you trusted Him to run things the right way, not your way.

It doesn't sound so bad because it's meant to sound harmless, as in, you are kept in the dark while you're drawn to the web. You don't see what's going on until it's too late. The power in witchcraft is in secrecy.
