For my son's 1st birthday (which was actually 4 days ago) instead of buying a gift we gave him a small party and i created a slideshow with pics of him from birth up until now. I added music to it also! It was a big hit for the party! Everyone said that they wouldv'e never thought of that. Someone also suggestd to me to make a time capsule so when your lil girl grows up she could open it and look back at stuff. I hope you this helps! Good Luck and wish your baby girl a very happy birthday for me!

I'd go with just some of the usual stuff then add in a toy or something that your family can use to remember the day she turned 1. Maybe a little t-shirt with her picture on it or something like that. It might not seem like much now, but 10 years from now she might really enjoy seeing a part of her from back when she was a baby.

She's not going to remember much if anything from her first birthday except in pictures. May I suggest a 529 account to start saving for her college education. You can put a little bit in on each birthday and later she can add to it as well. Also, family members can put money in too.
She'll appreciate that you had the foresight to ensure that she will have something to go to college with.

Happy Birthday! I think you should throw her a birthday bash since its her first birthday. Invite most of ur friends and family together and just have a bar-q-que, eat, talk, heck, throw a pool party! [if u have a pool] and make a cute banner saying "happy birthday [her name]!" And get her a soft teddy bear she can hug in her crib. Thats proably the most practical thing you can get a baby is a stuff animal lol.
And take pictures! And buy her a necklace she can keep forever with a baby picture inside of it.

Daddy Day. My daughter looks foward to it every year. She loves having Daddy all to herself (uninterupted) doing her favorite things. They eat, have ice cream, but most of all she loves just hanging out with Daddy.

Something inexpensive that she can't break, she won't remember it anyway.
