DEPENDS?

For those of you unfamiliar with the pros and cons of toe running, let me explain very briefly. By landing on the ball of your foot (toe running) and springing into the next stride (much like a diving board), the turnover time is significantly reduced versus heel striking -- landing on the heel, rolling to the midfoot, then pushing off the toes. There is much debate regarding the efficiency and proneness to injury of these respective techniques along with landing fairly flat footed, so I will avoid that topic. There is no question, however, that toe running is by far the fastest method.

Distance running: Heel first.

Sprint running: Toe first

Put your shoulders back to open your diaphragm so you can breath in lots of air. Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. And depending on how you are running land on your heels.

I land first on my heel. I'd imagine you would injure yourself if you landed on your toes. I would go with what you feel more comfortable doing.

front of foot is best if you can
upright body low hands and using your feet like springs
this is the ideal way but whatever you have to do to make it less impact and lower energy will help you run faster or longer
