You never know. It can happen with any country. Just think about what is happening in North Korea right now, and think about the Iranians. Did we ever think that they would amount to anything?

Remember in what kind of a state the US was so many years ago - if there would not have been a 2nd World War, the US would have gone under. When it finally joined the war theater, jobs for the thousands of unemployed were created, and only then the economy in this country improved.

Germany is a very industrious country. It believes in educating it's population. They take schooling very serious, and they do NOT pass students on into the next grade just to look good for the local School board. There is a lot of competition for good paying jobs, for recognition of one's status and so on. The Germans are tough, they went thru hell during the war and the years after that, and don't give up easily. I have heard horror stories from my parents of how life was for them after the war.

Just think of how easy we have it over here in the US. For example: Getting a driver's license here is a piece of cake compared to getting one in Germany. There you need to take countless driving lessons that will cost you hundreds of Euros. Everything is difficult over there, and that makes the population tough.

Our world is changing constantly, and perhaps some day Germany will be the leading Super Power again. However, if by any chance a monster like Adolf Hitler should raise it's ugly head, I hope that the rest of the world, including the US, will show some back bone and get rid of him quickly. As Hitler was rising to power, the rest of the world stood by and did nothing, why?

I am German living in the US and I will never live over there again because the way of living in Germany has changed too much for me after living in the US for 43 years.

Nope, WWII ended Germany as a military power. They were afraid to take care of the problem in Kosovo, their own backyard, without the U.S. leading the way. I don't see the Church getting bogged down backing one Catholic country against another.
