WELLBUTRIN XL has demonstrated tolerability
As with all medications, you may experience side effects when you take WELLBUTRIN XL. Side effects may be more common shortly after you start treatment. The most common side effects with WELLBUTRIN XL are weight loss, loss of appetite, dry mouth, skin rash, sweating, ringing in the ears, shakiness, stomach pain, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, trouble sleeping, muscle pain, nausea, fast heartbeat, sore throat, and urinating more often.
Seizures may occur (studies showed an incidence of 1/1000 - 4/1000). The chances of having seizures increases with higher doses. Taking more than 450 mg/day increases the chance of serious side effects. If you have nausea, take WELLBUTRIN XL with food. If you have trouble sleeping, remember to take WELLBUTRIN XL in the morning. Do not change your dose or stop taking WELLBUTRIN XL without talking to your doctor.
For additional safety information, see "Important Safety Information" below.
Important Safety Information About WELLBUTRIN XL
WELLBUTRIN XL is not for everyone. There is a risk of seizure with WELLBUTRIN XL which increases with higher doses. Taking more than 450 mg/day increases the chance of serious side effects. Don’t use it if you’ve had a seizure or eating disorder, or if you abruptly stop using alcohol or sedatives. Don’t take with MAOIs, or medicines that contain bupropion. When used with a nicotine patch or alone, there is a risk of increased blood pressure, sometimes severe. To reduce risk of serious side effects, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems. Other side effects may include weight loss, dry mouth, nausea, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, sore throat, constipation, or flatulence.
WELLBUTRIN XL is approved only for adults 18 years and over. In some children and teens, antidepressants increase suicidal thoughts or actions. Whether or not you are taking antidepressants, you or your family should call the doctor right away if you have worsening depression, thoughts of suicide, or sudden or severe changes in mood or behavior, especially at the beginning of treatment or after a change in dose (see Medication Guide: What is important information I should know and share with my family about taking antidepressants?).

I had a friend who had a bad reaction--she was not sleeping or eating well, and the Wellbutrin accelerated the thinning of her stomach lining (which happens when you don't sleep well). Basically, her stomach began bleeding. It wasn't a huge deal, she just needed to start taking better care of herself.

It made me agitated as crap and homicidal ( I don't even like killing bugs) . As I have said, what happens to me may not happen to anyone else. What works for you, may not work for me. Don't go by what someone tells you on here and assume, it will be the same for you. It won't

I'd just stick with the smokes to be safe.

I used it. It's a great drug, and it helped me. The biggest thing I noticed was being generally stress free, and I had crazy *** dreams. Seriously CRAZY dreams. It's worth it.
