Vegemite is made from leftover brewers' yeast extract, a by-product of beer manufacture, and various vegetable and spice additives. Vegemite is firmer and slightly sweeter than other yeast extracts.
Marmite is a British savoury spread made from yeast extract, also a by-product of beer brewing. It is a sticky, dark brown paste with a distinctive and powerful taste. It is similar to the Australasian Vegemite and Swiss Cenovis
