"God blesses you" would only be correct in a sentence such as "I hope God blesses you" or "You'd be amazed at how many ways God blesses you" or things like that. If you're simply giving someone a quick blessing it's "God bless you!"

God bless you is correct. in the second part you left out the capital letter G for God,otherwise God blesses you is acceptable as a statement, a commendation.An observation that one seems to be blessed .

God Bless you .... because you are wishing a blessing upon someone. To say blesses is to say it is already, God can only make that choice. Having said that, if you see someone who has a special talent or something like that, you would say "you are blessed", as you are making an observation about that person. Hope that makes sense.

The first is a request for god to bless someone, the second is a statement that god already blesses them.

God bless you ... is when someone sneezes... for a split second.. you don't breathe.
God blesses one who He deems to bless. For instance, all the women that get pregnant ... have actually received a blessing from God. That's why one should never have an abortion... the woman is blessed.
But you say God Bless You to those in Christ.... go in peace to those not in Christ

It is "God bless you" - if you are referring to a sneeze. An ancient pagan belief taught that your soul could escape with a powerful 'Ahh-choo'. The closest person to the sneezer would shout "Acht Guten Haur!" Which translated is, "Get back soul!"
Christianity later changed this saying to "God bless you!"

It's "God bless you" because it's been shortened from "May God bless you". The "may" is understood.
