I can not get IE7 to open or uninstall off my computer. I can not get my laptop to restore to any date. It keeps giving me an error message that IE7 did not install please restart to remove setup. What makes this bad is that it was working find before MS update tried to reinstall it.

From what you wrote i believe. MS Automatic Updates removed some beta version of IE7 and installed IE7 final version.

Anyway, first download a complete version of IE7

Then uninstall and reinstall it

How to Uninstall IE7:

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click Add or Remove Programs
3. Click Show Updates checkbox
4. Click whatever version of IE7 you have. For example "Internet Explorer 7 Beta..."
5. Click the Change/Remove button

go into add/remove program in the control panel, select IE7 and remove it when the options screen comes up for it. it will give options to repair, uninstall, go back to previous. just remove it. i am going to assum you had yahoo tool bar with IE6, that is what 7 is along with the tabbing feature like firefox.

Try to uninstall from the control panel.. Then reboot. Check to see if its still in the control panel when the pc boots back up..

If it is and this is something that just reciently happened perhaps you can restore it to yesterday or the day before... Thats how I managed to get MEdia player 11 off my PC...

if you know much about the regedit and how to use it then, get to internet explorer and change the value from a 0 to a 1 .... that could be backwards too.. not sure.. check the microsoft website, it explains how to do it... btw.. you will have to reinstall it AFTER making that change
