Why? It's because you're young. I know that's not what you want to hear, but it's the truth. You're still trying to find yourself at 15 and part of that is impressing others. You want to look like the macho guy, and holding hands seems soft to you. (Also made evident by the ashamed feeling about messing up.)
Take your time. You'll get comfortable in relationships slowly. You shouldn't worry about condoms: you're too young. It'll just ruin your relationship and life if you're not careful. Right now, just take time to find you first.

just give it some time and you will gain your confidence and you can get condoms from anysuper market the reason i am telling you this even though you are to young still is that when i first had sex the first couple of time was with out condoms and i fell pregnant now this is supposed to scare you abit think of having to quite school and start work just to support the family you have helped create and at the age of 15 or 16 there isn't really much work out there so think long and hard about having sex with out a condom
