Are you breastfeeding? If so it is unlikely you are fertile, although there is still a chance of conception. Exclusive regular breastfeeding is almost as reliable as the pill until the baby is 6 months old, and is still over 90% effective after 6 months. Obviously it's not reliable as the main form of contraception, though, as all sorts of things can interfere with your regular feeding routine, and you may not be aware that it has failed until you find out you are pregnant! If you use a mixture of breast & formula then you do lose most of the contraceptive benefits, but the probability of getting pregnant is still lower than if you weren't breastfeeding at all.
If you are not breastfeeding, the idea that you are "super fertile" after birth appears to be a myth. Actually, there is very little chance of conceiving in the first few weeks. You could become fertile only four weeks after giving birth, but there isn't any real medical reason why you would be more fertile than usual! Even if you aren't breastfeeding, it may take a while before you regain full fertility. If your periods have started again then that is a sign that you could be fully fertile, but if they haven't you can't really tell (many women ovulate prior to their first period after giving birth).
Bottom line is, there is definately a chance you could be pregnant, but it is less likely in the first few months. Whatever the case may be, get a pregnancy test as there's no point burying your head in the sand even if the thought of being pregnant again terrifies you! Chances are you aren't pregnant, but it's better to find out asap, just in case.
Good luck!

there is not really any such thing as "very" fertile - if an egg is released and fertilized by a sperm, then you can become pregnant, regardless of when you have had a baby. the most risky time is right in between cycles, about 10-14 days after the first day of your last period...and even if you have not had your period since the baby, you could still become pregnant. until you hit menopause you will be what you consider "very fertile", meaning you can still become pregnant almost anytime!

Unfortunately, the answer is yes... My daughter was 4 months old when I found out that I was pregnant again, my son and my daughter are 13 months apart. I wish you all the best. If it turns out that you are pregnant again, don't worry, it will all be okay. Its hard for the first little while, but it gets easier as the time goes on. My kids are now 19.5 months and 6.5 months and at times its hard, but I don't regret it at all. Good Luck!

Yes you're very fertile. I had my first youngster may 30th, bought my first period in July and simply learned i'm pregnant once more. This is not an opps for my husband and i, we desired our children to be as shut in age as possible, my sister and i are 11 month aside and my husband is an equal twin so having a sibling as close to our first child is typical and typical to us. I get a lot of sleep at night time since my son does no longer nap for the period of the day so accordingly he sleeps all night, it is first-class. Excellent luck and congrats if you are pregnant!

Yes you are and my doctor reminded me about it when I had my 6 week checkup. He said even if you are breastfeeding, make sure you use protection.
