I never said I was perfect, just because their spelling is better, perhaps they think they are all that, or it makes them feel better to pick on someone. I think that is very rude.... especially because you misspelled a word, you can't always go back to fix it....... and almost down the line, as if they all don't think you can read, others remind you of it.
You know who the intelligent ones are, they are understanding and over look it, because they know what you meant.

the spell check works only for the questions, and not for options.
usually it's only one letter that I may misspell, and it's easy to understand. Just some are so negative.

I'm not sure. Most of the time I think misspelled words are the result of either bad typing, a bad keyboard, being in a hurry, or being new to using the language.
Spell check is not always the answer. All spell check does is make sure the letters form a word. Their, they're, deer. Donut weary. (Sea whit eye men?)
OTOH, one should try ones best to present thoughts clearly -- but not on these boards, LOL. The Religion & spirituality boards are for insulting one another.
I have a question, too: How much time do posters save by leaving out two letters? U no what I mean?

Most people can figure it out and knows what one is writing about BUT it seems the think their all that, and be for they cast a stone just maybe their ought to take a good look in their mirror, because if you have a problem with someone, The REAL problem just may be looking back at you in the mirror.
No one is perfect, people make mistakes daily, we could make a LONG list of things people do much more serious than a miss spelled word, give me a frickin break.
people Lie,cheat /cheaters,steal,fabricate,gossip,talk on sell phones when driving, run red lights, tailgate, drink, use drugs, are abusive, bullies, use region as a scapegoat, just to list a few so whats your excuse ?
Who says whats right or wrong ? its ALL just and opinion, everyone has walked different paths in life and if you haven't walked in their shoes don't knock it.
Keeping in mind everyone is wired differently, others have ADD,ADHD and other disorders, some know of and some don't even know.

when people try to post these super logical scientific arguements.
Then they use bad grammar or misspell half of the words in their arguement, it makes them look very silly.
Usually I overlook typos and phonetic spelling. Mainly because I myself am a phonetic speller. The spellcheck on Yahoo does not always work. The only time that I say something about the spelling of words or use of spellcheck is when I see people write a question like this.
(example)
Wat do U think about Evolution?
Evolution is a FACT dat is proven with science. Y do People not be able to understand this. R U all stupid.
This may be a bit extreme, but if you expect an adult to take you seriously. Write out complete words. Make an attempt at punctuation, and grammar. And leave the street slang on the street.

Well, there is this little thing called "Check Spelling" at the upper right-hand corner of the text box. And you can always go back and edit a post, even after you've hit the Submit button. So there really isn't an excuse.
The problem that I have with bad spelling that if you can't be bothered to run spell checker, why should I take the rest of your facts seriously? I probably won't say anything about it in my reply, but I still wonder if you took the time to research your information and give a good, well thought-out reply.
I've got a Master's Degree in English, so forgive me if I come across as a hard nose. It's just how I think.

"You know who the intelligent ones are, they are understanding and over look it, because they know what you meant."
No, that's the definition of tolerant and patient. Not intelligent. The thing is, if someone can't be bothered to use language legibly, they either have no respect for the people they're speaking to, or the answer isn't that important to them. It's unfair to type so poorly that it takes the reader several minutes to guess what you've just written. It takes just a moment to hit the spell check button and it does all the work for you. Yeesh. How lazy an you be? I'm not talking about the occasional typo. We all do that. I'm talking about the morons who have no respect for the language and type like spastic 13 year olds on a text messenger. "U no wat? U R teh roxors!"

My wife, who is the very smartest person I know, comes from Russia, can read/write seven languages, and is a horrible speller in all of them. My mother can't spell, even though she can think circles around most other people. And I have tutored dyslexic adults and children. I myself can spell, but I don't judge those who can't. People who post here are usually doing the best they can as far as grammar and spelling are concerned. The point of language is to communicate a message, not to get things perfectly perfect. If someone can't focus on the message and gets bogged down in insulting someone's spelling or grammar, it's really their loss, 'cause they're missing the point entirely.

I think it's silly. People who nitpick spelling are the silliest people I know. Specially on a World Wide Web. I get it a lot. I'm Dutch, English is my fourth language. But hey, at least i try to be so nice to speak their language :)
Usually people start about spelling when they don't really have an answer to a smart question, so take it as a compliment!

A few words misspelled here and there is no big deal. But a spell checker is included for a reason. When the question/answer is cluttered with misspellings (and poor grammar and punctuation), it is hard for others to read and understand.

It's just incredibly annoying to have to sort out someone's spelling errors, especially if they forget words that are really important to the syntax and meaning of the sentence. Just be a halfway decent speller and you'll have nothing to worry about!

Very small people criticize another's spelling in an effort to make themselves look big. They are the Yahoo! version of the school yard bully. Pay them no mind, they are not worth the energy expended in worrying about them.
