Oh, yea. Extremely pessimistic. Probably as pessimistic as anyone posting on Yahoo. The future of the earth isn't good. There will be disease epidemics. There will be earthquakes. There will be volcanic eruptions. There will be famine. Of course there will be more wars. And this is just the beginning. Then things will really start to deteriorate. Just wait till the anti-christ arrives on the scene. An expression - then all hell will break loose.
Don't put your faith in this world or the things of this world. It is pointless. Put your faith in the Son of God. He will provide you with safe passage off this earth before its destruction.

it is only a matter of time until someone from the middle east gets their hands on a nuclear weapon. It would be so easy with thousands of miles of coast line to get it into the USA.
the cold war worked because the Russians didn't want to die.
and neither did we. The Islamic people want to die.
the hate is so deep did you read some of these ridiculous answers. Jews drink pigs blood and childrens blood.
They are forbidden under Jewish law to eat pigs or use any blood.
Not even in blood transfussions.
They hate Jews, Africans, USA, UK, and each other.
You have hamas that hates Fatah, then there is Lebannon hates Isreal. Shiite hates Sunni and in Somalia they called that the worst genocide in the history of the world.
If anyone is not negative about the future they are uninformed about world events.
You cannot stop the hate, the war in Iraq will lead us into the war in Iran. Which will lead into a war with Syria.
One minister in Africa talking about the Ethiopian troops leaving.
They will not stop [Islamic forces] they will come back.
The fighting will continue.
There is only two outcomes before us. Either you destroy that faith or wait until they destroy the world.
Interesting note: More muslims are killed by other muslims than any other way.
On soldier on coming back from there stated: "they hate each other more than they hate us."
How can you stop that kind of hate?

No... well, it depends.
I"m pessimistic about the next 10 or 20 years. We're in a nasty historic cycle it seems. Then things will down and someone will do something that will make the Sh** hit the fan again.
Part of me is optimistic about the far future when we finally figure out that we are all one race - human - and we need to take care of each other and our world. Who knows how long that will take. *shrugs* (Maybe I just watch too much star trek lol)

Well, eventually the sun is going to die out in a few million years and all life on earth will cease to exist so you can say I'm a little pessimistic about the future.

over the last so many decades, there were people who were very pessimistic. I see this as "pointless" so, remain more optimistic. Just live one day at a time - after all we all have to face life till we die, come what may - don't we?

It's hard not to be. There is not a foreseeable reversal in the current condition of the world. Issues like global warming, crime, education, even then increasing hold technology has over our lives; all call for distress.

Yes, since 95% of the planet believe that a god will, somehow, save us from our childish mistakes. That this life has no meaning for most, so they don't take care of each other or our home, Earth.
Unless people begin to re-evaluate their beliefs, religion will be the downfall of the human species.

The future of the world is directly linked to religion. If religion prevails over reason, then we're not gonna last much longer.
