I have not been robbed by the gangsters... yet. On Christmas day a Chinese policeman nearly kicked the crap out of me. Luckily I was able to get away from the dude but he would have killed me if he had the chance. I still have bruises on my ribs from him kicking me in the street. Chinese police have small dicks and I think they are just pissed off at the world for it. My house was robbed once and no not once did I even consider the police doing anything about it and I know they would have laughed at me. I had a great chuckle when my mom asked me if I called "011" or whatever it is... God I miss America!!! When this work is finished I am going to travel someplace normal and romantic where there isn't crap on the streets and kids peeing everywhere and corrupt cops who just stand on the corners smoking and harassing "lao wai" for no reason.
OH thanks for your question. It gave me a chance to vent a little... I have never seen the great wall and I really have no desire to be around a bunch of people chasing me around trying to get me to buy their worthless crap. If I want to see the great wall I will look at a picture. It is said that China has surpassed Spain as the second most traveled place. Oh what are people thinking???? I have had a great many run ins with the great firewall though. Freak I cannot even get onto myspace. What a waist of time myspace is... Maybe China is doing SOMETHING right besides pirating DVD's and aborting precious babys. Now I am gonna go listen to crappy patriotic music and light off some fireworks and pray that one of them blows me right out of here and I find myself in Hawaii sipping on a very fine wine next to a really lovely girl, and not a Chinese girl either cuz she would probably just try to steal my wallet or worse, my kidney.I gotta get out of here!
Later...

YEs i have.
I was travelling alone in Shanghai at around 7.30pm Shanghai time. I just finished my last load of shopping and was heading back to the hotel for a good rest. While i was walking i saw this group of guys behind me walking towards me. I tried to take a shortcut through an alley(which is very close to the hotel than walking through the streets) This was my biggest mistake. These guys just came over me and asked for all the cash i have--at knife point! I was so frightened that i gave them 5000 china currency from my wallet. Luckily i had some money stashed away at a secret compartment in my wallet. They then gave me 100 china currency back and asked me to take a taxi home. THey then just ran away. I was so frightened. I should have never have gone into the alley!

no, i don't think they are so many gangsters in china, if u are in trouble , u should call 110. just as 911 in america. they will help u
. also if u meet gangsters , when they ran away, u should shout for help. people will help u. most of chinese are kind people.

just fight them and scream for help... it'll startle them and odds are, they'll run b4 cops come. Just like in Mexico... they dont want to be in jail.
aside from my friends... I never encountered any Chinese gangsters in China...
What you dont want to encounter is the ones from Hong Kong and Macau...

Chinese Government is heavily corrupted! Don't expect the police to do much fo you. Even if you reported, it is a waste of time.
