Do you think that there is just one person for everyone? Or are we just setting ourselves up for disappointment?

Hmm, 6 billion people in the world, 1 person for everybody, that would leave what, a .0000000000000000000000000000000001% chance we would find the person we are supposed to be with.

No, there are many compatible people with anyone.

I think it's a smarmy load of crap, and a fast path to disappointment. What if your soulmate dies before you meet him/her? What if your soulmate was born in another part of the world, and you never have the chance to meet? What if you and your soulmate have a nasty falling-outp and never speak to each other again?

With more than six billion people spread across the surface of the planet, finding one specific person is like finding a needle in a haystack. How many people have you met in your life? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Out of billions, that's nothing. If there was such a thing as a "soulmate," very few people would meet theirs, much fewer than are claiming to have met theirs.

There are millions of potential mates for each person, with varying degrees of compatibility. People who find a partner with a high level of compatibility might feel like they've found the absolute best match possible, but there are hundreds of others who would have been just as compatible.

Nope, I don't think there is only one person for everyone.
Of course, I don't believe in a soul either, but that's way besides the point.
Anyway, I think this belief causes a lot of perfectionism in the way we seek out our mates. No lighting bolt's gonna hit you when you find 'the one', because there's a whole bunch of people you could be equally happy with. (Just hope they don't come knocking on your door all at once or you'll have a whole new set of problems).

It all comes down to whose quirks you can live with, and how balanced your relationship becomes over time (which means commitment and effort put into it by both parties).
In my opinion, anyway.

Hmmm.... I think that maybe there is someone...I knew who he was... But people don't necessarily find them... I personally feel now that things could be "meant to be," but still nothing is guaranteed.

If you believe in destiny, then eventually, you're probably going to end up with someone. Whether he or she is perfect for you is irrelevant. They are your soulmate because you we destined to meet.
